Surely he is still too unwell...... ( I would have said bonkers but felt it a little incorrect to do so)
I doubt it.

Thats what I thought to, MallyJ. Until I read this part.
The hospital offers low-security and medium-security facilities together with “rehabilitation flats with rooms for eight patients to live with greater independence prior to discharge."
Probably some yoghurt knitter somewhere thinks it's a good idea but I don't think he'll see the light of day.

I hope not.
So what does '' A Whole Life Tariff '' actually mean ?
I think that too many people would rear up if it was to be seriously considered. I read the report but not sure that release is really where a move is leading. I would think that the response to that newspaper report would be enough to knock that idea on the head. I wonder if the Telegraph are getting bored with the election news and fine weather and felt like a bit of stirring........!!
Reading the link, it sounds like a Sun scare story - probably designed to pre-empt any move - but I think it unlikely any review would move him from Broadmoor anyway.
whole life means whole life. He appealed against it a few years ago and was rejected.

I can't understand why send him to the Priory, I should have thought that he would have been getting the treatment for ''Recovery and rehabilitation'' at Broadmoor.
Yup and Nigel Farage "could" become Prime Minister and I "could" run a marathon.
If Nigel does become PM, Woof.....will we have to sponsor you in the Marathon?......

The ripper murdered a young lass I knew......breaks my heart to see what it did to her parents......he will never be released.

Now there was me thinking the Priory clinics were there for people with drug or alcohol addictions. The place where stars and celebrities can afford to go to dry out or get clean. Surely Mr Sutcliffe didn't fall by the way side whilst residing in HMQ's House of correction did he and substances were available to him there? May be he actually had mental problems in the first place so an institute for the criminally insane is the best place for this piece of evil carp to remain like Broadmoor. Still. As often is said. The Loonies are running the asylum. A few feet of sisal would have solved the dilemma now the authorities have as to what should be done with him.
Should have swung him.
THE brother of Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe has rubbished claims he might be moved from top security Broadmoor to a lower security unit.
The answer is in the words 'could be' , any patient 'could be' moved.
The report just says he is being accessed, does not mean anything will come of it.
Even if he is moved the Priory still has medium security areas, possibly he is no longer considered an escape risk but still needs to be detained.
Tony....I hope he isn't being prepared for release ! He was given 20 life sentences in 1981. Not sure how anybody like that could ever be let out.

But what is the point of treating this man for his crimes ? He is 68 years old and there is no possibility of him being released, so why are we wasting money trying to rehabilitate him ?
Question Author
Exactly my thoughts to, mikey.
It seems a bit daft to me Tony, when the NHS is under so much strain. I am sure the money could be used more wisely.
