For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.most train companies say they have banned e-cigs on their trains but, with one exception (scotrail), none have a written policy on this. the law doesn't cover e-cigs because "smoking" is defined in legalese that excludes the way that these devices produce vapour. thus if someone vapes on a train (except in scotland) they cannot be stopped - i know because i'm having a running battle with virgin about it (their last word? if you don't like it, MOVE).
Talbot you know perfectly well I didn't say that - most smokers don't doesn't mean most drinkers do. However you know perfectly well that alcohol is frequently the cause of such events.
