Washing Machine Spin Cycle Problem

Good afternoon.

I'm not happy with my washing machines spin cycle and doubt the manufacturers claim that it spins at 1400rpm so I phoned the shop who put me in touch with the supplier and then the manufacturers directly to the CEO of the company in Shanghai who in his broken english and whoever was translating was the most frustrating and confusing conversation I've ever had in my entire life. From what I gathered he was saying that each washing machine was tested with a laser to gauge it's speed before leaving the factory. I seriously doubt this as well as he was the CEO but there is no way to prove or disaprove this.

I asked him could he direct me to his youtube video so I could see the laser at work and was disconnected. Several phone calls later I was told the CEO was away for a week which I also doubt.

My questions are, are washing machines tested with a laser and if so where can I get one of these lasers to check my spin cycle itself?

Silly question but could a handheld car speed radar scanner be used to guage a washing machines spin speed?

Ok Huckle will defer to your experience, but are clothes coming out wet or just damp as they do with my Zanussi at 1300 RPM

But at end of day your issue is with retailer who seems to be fobbing you off not the manufacturer. Get back to them and tell them you want a replacement if that one is no good then you can ask for refund

Thanks Tony...I obviously need to get out more. Although so few top-loaders are sold here in Britain, compared with the States.

I had two American friends to stay in 2008 and they were amazed my cute little Washer-Dryer, that sat under the sink ! So neat apparently !

well Huckle - I too have 1400 and I think 600 spin - many of my washes stop at the 600 spin and I have to manually turn them round to 1400 and it is no big deal. Try that.

Tonv there maybe little difference between 1400rpm and 13rpm but my eyes tell me that mine is going at 900rpm and that's being very generous.

Mikey44444 I don't know which dimwit invented the side opening which is hazardous to kids,pets and people with bad backs but the top loader is a godsend. We should always follow the yanks as they know what they're doing in every field.

Jennyjoan I have absolutely no idea what you mean. You're saying that your washing machine doesn't run on electricity? I find that hard to believe but then it was just like yesterday when we used to use a washing board and mangle.

No I have two spins 600 and 1400 all electricity (DO YOU THINK i AM MAD) but most of the washes end up at 600 so I turn round 1400 and they are nearly dry.

I think I understand jennyjoan. No I don't believe it was the CEO at all as why would they put me through to the brains behind a global operation about what they must see as a bottom of the rung question and if he had time to answer all of our little questions then who'd be running the ship? No one.

Huckle - if this is awful - but could you afford a new washing machine - you can get reasonable ones £199 maybe in Currys - look out for the spin - without this hassle of China. I remember ringing them one time re my lost card and with the language barrier I thought my ear was caught to the phone and down my throat. I hung up

Jennyjoan my washing machines is not broken it's just that I contest the manufacturers claims especially using the eyes and ears tests at other peoples houses when they have their machines on 1400rpm and they look and sound faster than mine.

Yes I understand but are you going through that hassle over and over again. Many;s a thing - I just give up and bought a new one.

Unfortunately I'd have to rely on the warranty if it's worth the paper it's printed on as all my savings when on my wifes funeral earlier this year.

before we go - try turning the manual at the end of the wash when it says END - turn it to highest 1400 or sometimes the machine has 1600. Good luck huckleberry brown. xx x x

Please look at your instruction book as usually at the back it gives you details of your nearest manufacturer. Or maybe have a wee google and give your number - it might help you.

It doesn't have a 1600rpm setting but there is a wet and dry which goes to 1400rpm which can be changed to 800-1400rpm
