Isn't it about time for this 23yr old multi million pound case was put to bed?

There are so many recent crimes that have not been solved, and the money would be better off spent on them.

Already proof that she has influence, how many politicians could any other mother get to pose with them on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of their murdered son's death?
There is a world of difference between meeting these people (who would all sell their own grannies for a photo-opportunity) and being able to influence them in any way.

Don't be so naive, You are beginning to make yourself appear silly now
Because I have the temerity to disagree with you?

I'm not the one who, having conceded I am spouting bunkum, has been frantically Googling to prove the opposite....

There's only one of us making a chump of ourselves.
Clue; it's not me.
// I agree, trt.
Would it have become 23 years old and cost millions if the victim had been white?//

I agree trt - it should have been put to bed ooo around 23 years ago
and think of the money which would NOT have been poured into the lawyers' pockets if that had been done ......

If I had been Doreen and been told:
you know that nice young WPC ? The one looking after you and the family on liaison ? Well ACTUALLY she was there to take a note of who visited you and what they said so the met would know what sort of criticism they were likely to attract and from whom .....

I wd be reluctant to kinda trust them again

Yeah and that other thing
Hillsborough
why are we spending so much on finding out what happened
when we know the Police were as pure as the driven snow and deserve all their pensions medals and seats in the House of Lords

and the fans well we know as Gods truth the white degenerate animals were urinating on the gallant police rescuers as they fought to save the lives.....

what ? they werent ?....... sez you what proof do you have of a cover up all the evidence has been collected and gone down a shredder innit ?
Interesting:
///Life peers created under the Life Peerages Act do not, unless they also hold ministerial positions, receive salaries. They are, however, entitled to daily allowance of £300 for travel and accommodation on signing in each day///
Wiki
// I agree they blotched this case up but surely there have been others before and after where the police could have acted differently. //

blimey out of the mouths of old age pensioners.....

//I fail to believe that this one in particular was purposely treated in such a way..... It was not as if the victim had been in need of a special cover up by the authorities.//

erm never mind AOG tomorrow you will wake up with your blinkers back on.
Yes is the asnwer lots and lots of cases
The only Irish terrorists who had done it seem to have been the Balcombe st gang - the rest - Birmingham Six, Guildford Four, Renault Two and the rest were framed .... The police could well have acted differently as you comment - like you know find out who had really done it
Because retro this is the young man being discussed on this thread !
Like I said to retro oag, this is the one being discussed here ......
I guess it will be "put to bed" as soon as all the people responsible for his murder are behind bars.

Perhaps if the Police hadn't made such monumental balls up of the investigation in the first place, it would have been solved years ago.
This is great news. If advances in DNA profiling means that police can identify a possible sixth attacker, then I'm all for it.

This person may have spent the last 23 years enjoying life, marrying, having kids etc, whilst Steven has laid in the ground. Late justice is better than no justice.
SP...If Stephen had been white, and the boys that killed him had been black, the same people making a case for "too much money being spent " would still be jumping up and down in rage. All the more so if those black boys had been Muslim as well.

Maybe that Institutional Racism" never went away.
sp - I agree with you wholeheartedly .....
Another point that needs to be addressed from AOG's comment:

Already proof that she has influence, how many politicians could any other mother get to pose with them on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of their murdered son's death?

Yes, she does have influence, but it's a fallacy to compare her to the mothers of other murdered children, unless their cases had been similarly botched with the killers walking free.

The nearest comparison you have to Dame Doreen Lawrence is Sara Payne.
Peter Pedant. Your posts are so snide and derogatory when you don’t agree with someone.
You come across as such an unpleasant person.

White people are also the victims of racial attacks, but if these cases are reported in the media, they are soon forgotten about.

Whilst the murder of Stephen Laurence was deplorable, and badly investigated at the time, I still maintain that had he been white, the press would have let this one slip into obscurity long ago.
I'll say again, just think that this could have been your son.
"I still maintain that had he been white, the press would have let this one slip into obscurity long ago. "

exactly and you can also bet that none of their family members would have been given an embarrassing token title....
BigBad

The difference with this case is that it was famously mishandled, with the attackers (initially) walking free.

It's not fair to compare to a hypothetical case where the victim is white, because we don't have one to compare it to.

Actually, no - there is one.

The murder of Lady Lucan and her nanny.

41 years and counting.
I believe the killers of PC Keith Blakelock have yet to be brought to justice. Correct me if I'm wrong>

It would have been dealt with properly had the victim been white!
