Isn't it about time for this 23yr old multi million pound case was put to bed?

There are so many recent crimes that have not been solved, and the money would be better off spent on them.

I agree, trt.
Would it have become 23 years old and cost millions if the victim had been white?
All unsolved crimes should be worked on when new evidence comes to light - I don't feel I am able to decide which are more deserving than others.
I agree trt.

This one has had far too much money spent on it. Other cases deserve a chance.
If the police had been more determined to solve the case 23 years ago this tragic case could have been consigned to history.
But they weren't and so here we are....
Any negative views would be reversed if it was their son.
Oh dear, dare I suggest that his mother sways plenty of influence, being a Baroness and all that.
You can suggest it, AOG.....a load of bunkum though it is....

I agree they blotched this case up big time, but surely there have been others before and after where the police could have acted differently.

I fail to believe that this one in particular was purposely treated in such a way, what had they to gain/ It was not as if the victim had been in need of a special cover up by the authorities.

Thank you for that rather insulting answer.

Can you produce any evidence that a Baroness does not carry any influence?
How about you prove that she does, first?
After all, you are the one who is insistent that she does...
//insulting// ha ha ha ha!
I agree they blotched this case up big time,

I don't think botched or blotched is the right word.

She will sit on the Labour benches as a working peer specialising in race and diversity.

Okay, willing to meet you half way, I have no direct proof that a baroness can influence matters, and you have no direct proof that they can't.

So in the circumstances it is plain for all to see that your statement that my assumption was bunkum, must also apply to your assumption.
I don't agree, if there has been a breakthrough, it should be acted upon. It is absolutely atrocious the way this young man was killed.
Thanks for that Motley, not bunkum then? What better proof of influence than this photo.

/// In April senior politicians from all parties joined Mrs Lawrence at the 20th anniversary memorial of the death of Stephen - including, from left to right, Police Minister Damian Green, Home Secretary Theresa May, Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, Prime Minister David Cameron, Labour leader Ed Milliband, who recommended her for the peerage, and London Mayor Boris Johnson ///

Couldn't get any more influence than that.

I'm sorry to disabuse of the notion that meeting politicians and posing for a photograph with them indicates that you can exercise any influence over them.....but someone has to do it.

I would of thought the killing of any young man is atrocious. What way was this young man killed different to any other?

No argument with you there, but certain cases should not be given preference over all others, it is atrocious the way many young lives are lost by black on black or even black on white knife crimes, but can you or anyone else remember their names at the end of the week that it happened, never mind 20 years on?
///She will sit on the Labour benches as a working peer specialising in race and diversity./// So as much influence as any other Peer then?
