I don't think that is a fair, or even reasonable solution.

The fault likes with Mr Mugabe's policies, which are in keeping with his general policies towards white people in his country.

I am sure you would not consider any such arrangements for the black people forced off land by whites in African countries, which has certainly ben the case in the past - so it is not practical to try and do so here and now.

It would seem that Mr Rankin and many other white farmer's contribution to the, already , poor economy to Zimbabwe are no longer required by Mr Mugabe.
Obviously the good Doctor is considered a good viable economic asset and is worth more than the generations of white farmrs efforts.
Just stop pouring economic aid into the country and see how they fare with their indigenous population installed in these farms!

I would suggest that the contributions to do not actually go towards the economy in Zimbabwe, but rather go towards the economy in Mr Mugabe's bank accounts.

I am sure therefore that the flow of profits will be maintained as they are now, regardless of who is running the farm.

I am unsure what is surprising - unless anyone finds the centuries of previous systematic exploitation of the indigenous population in terms of their lands and their labour by invading white people to be a surprise.

Not unusual to see the usual apologists who are quite willing to see one of their own, his wife and three children kicked off their own farm, because they happen to be white.

All this talk about how the whites forced the blacks off their land lol lol.

Most of this land was a dust bowl until the white settlers irrigated it and then cultivated it, it then attracted the natives from in where they lived, attracted by the better living conditions, that they could enjoy by working on these farms.

I don't for one minute think I am a spokesman for jack - in my experience she is more than capable of speaking for herself - I was merely making a comment, which I think is valid in the spirit of debate.

When you refer to 'one of their own' - do you mean because the farmer is white? It can't be because he is British, since I don't believe he is.

In that case, he is not 'one of our own' simply by virtue of his skin colour - that would be racist would it not?

Whereas the doctor is indeed 'one of our own' - because he is British.

So if we are basing this on nationality, then you should have no problem at a South African being displaced by a British citizen.
