Increased numbers of cyclists are not good news. It is a dangerous activity; fatally dangerous in some cases. It is irresponsible to partake in or to encourage. Like other dangerous activities, such as walking down the fast lane of the motorway for example, it should be barred for the safety of all.

That would imply it is just a rip-off the motorist tax, which would need to be maintained, rather than a genuine attempt at reducing congestion, Haggis. Surely you are not suggesting anything so underhand and dishonest ! Clearly it can't simply be an additional charge on drivers who have already overpaid to use the road via the road fund licence anyway, just because the authorities can bully whomever they like ?

Maybe they/I want to ensure we are correctly attired for our chosen activity? I never cycle without my helmet, lights and hi-viz clothing/jacket. Oddly why do some men wear replica football kits and play for a team on a Sunday morning? You'd swear they were trying to play football!
Why do village cricketers wear white clothing, pads and helmets whilst on a cricket pitch?
