Nice one, retro.
Some folk are too pre-occupied with Robinson. Bringing up Nawaz is relevant in the context of someone being controversial in the past but who has successfully re-modelled himself.

To be frank I have never heard of him bit I will be happy to google him and read what he says before I give an opinion.
I will grant you the courtesy of reading about him first, unlike others who can offer an ill informed rant before reading the links offered them. :-(
Nawaz was recently on QT.
I think some may either know of him or on googling him find themselves in a bit of a dilemma. On these occasions I find the question is usually ignored.
Talbot, a clever example ;)

/// You may not have needed them to represent you, but their constituents did, which is why they voted for
them. ///

Yes but their constituents elected them to voice their concerns in the 'House' and not to use their privileged position to rabble rouse on the streets or outside military establishments.

I don't think any MP who is worthy of the post should be confined to expressing their views only within the House - but even if that were so, the gentlemen in question still had a democratic mandate to represent a section of the population by their will and consent - something Mr Robinson and co are sadly lacking.

Hmm...thing is, can I trust an unknown source writing for this particular website?

I mean, can we be sure of his objectivity?

I'm not convinced we can.

It's like going to a Unite Against Fascism blog expecting an even-handed and objective report on their own marches.

Would you trust them?

I think in this instance, we need to acknowledge that there may be a trace of bias...

...surely?

I have just given him less time than the man deserves. It was,I confess, a very quick scan but my time marches on today.
From what I read he appears a straight talking intelligent reasoned person with much to offer. He certainly carries no baggage or usual chips we often encounter here.
Just reading this quote was heartening.

//Ok far-lefty fellow-travellers of Islamism, I'm a state-school, brown, stabbed-at-by-neo-Nazis, falsely arrested at gunpoint by Essex police, Muslim, divorced, estranged from his child, ex-Islamist, tortured ex-prisoner who's been mandatorily profiled & DNA'd under schedule 7 at Heathrow airport & blacklisted from countries. I am every grievance you harp on about. And yet your first-world bourgeois brains malfunction because I'm not spewing hate & fitting in your little angry Muslim box. Are you feeling slightly privileged yet?//

I will have to read some more later. Thanks.
> something Mr Robinson and co are sadly lacking

By 'co' you must be referring to counter-demonstrators too then?

Having skimmed through his history I can now see what you mean.

Absolutely.

I only single Mr Robinson out, because he singles himself out, with his self-appointed 'mission' to 'defend' the UK which is neither mandated, or requested, and frankly, I seriously doubt he and his cohorts would be capable of delivering, if push came to shove - no pun intended.

/// Does that explain their endless obsession with the 'Islamification' of Britain, which they bang on about every day with a 'y' in it? ///

Well perhaps you could point out something that I have seemingly missed in today's press, because I cannot see any mention of the 'Islamification' of Britain, that you refer to, and I presume that I am correct at least when I state that Wednesday has a 'Y' in it?

/// If a daily paper told me the day was Tuesday, I'd check a calendar! ///

Couldn't you be accused of sticking your head in the sand, when you don't believe anything that you read?

Pray, from where do you obtain your views from if you don't read what is going on?

Perhaps you only wish the press to report on matters that fit your particular agenda?

Perhaps that is why you are so 'out of touch' with your views on matters?
> can we be sure of his objectivity?

I'm not convinced we can.

Sp - the 'tweets' that I read would confirm much of what he wrote. I think, on balance, his account is accurate on a number of fronts.
AOG - I'm trying to keep up with this thread and can't seem to find where you've plucked the AH quote from in your 13:24 post. Could you clarify?

I was exaggerating deliberately - to make a point, if my irony escaped you, then that is the price we pay for only using written communication - as I have opined many times before - meanings can and do get lost between transmission and reception.

// Couldn't you be accused of sticking your head in the sand, when you don't believe anything that you read? //

I do believe some things I read - please see paragraph above.

//Pray, from where do you obtain your views from if you don't read what is going on? //

There are numerous sources of information apart from the print media.

// Perhaps you only wish the press to report on matters that fit your particular agenda? //

That is something you have made up, not something I have said - so, no.

//Perhaps that is why you are so 'out of touch' with your views on matters? //

I am not out of touch with my views on matters.

And yet, sp, and yet when some fruitcake claimed that 98% of terrorist incidents in Europe were perpetrated by non-muslims you took it as Gospel truth and posted it on here. Strange, what?

/// Adding insults like this to your disgusting reference yesterday to my supposed 'defence' of molesters, which you have conveniently ignored as you usually do when challenged - is making you sound like a nasty reactionary bigot - perhaps you should think before you press submit. ///

That was not an insult it was simply a light hearted comparison, neither was your supposed 'defence' of molesters, an accusation, it was a justifiable comment, hence your own addition of the word 'supposed', indeed it was only supposed by yourself..

/// is making you sound like a nasty reactionary bigot - perhaps you should think before you press submit. ///

Please refrain from the insulting name calling, because that is making you out as a complete hypocrite, coming from the person who is forever quoting AB rules to everyone.
