According to the Guardian, it seems as if the Uk goes to the top of their list when it comes to picking a Muslim for it's capital's mayor.

Mikey, I can’t possibly know what kind of people voted for which candidate, but you are 100% - 100% mark you - clear is that if Sajid Javid stood for the Tories in the Mayoral election, he would probably have lost.

How does that work then? Do you know something I don’t?
Because Londoners voted Labour Naomi, not Muslim, and that is my point.

You can't turn the clock back and fight this election again, but you will have a chance in a little under 4 years time, to have another go...meanwhile, lets see what a Labour Mayor can do.

If he makes a complete horlicks, then I am sure that Londoners will look more kindly on the Tory Party.
That doesn't answer the question but no surprise.
NAOMI if you "can't possibly know what kind of people voted for which candidate", how can you say that Khan got the Muslim vote and the black vote?
ah, I guess you're not ...
London is natural Labour territory so I am not surprised at the result. Boris appeared larger than life and it was his personal following that swung it in his favour. My gut feeling is that if the Labour candidate had been a white christian he would have won with an even larger majority.
THECORBYLOON, since white indigenous people of London are in the minority, it doesn't really take much working out ... well, not for me at least.

Mikey, Here are some of the people who voted for Khan solely because he stood for Labour. Can't find the word Labour on their banner though. Odd that.

Naomi, that is disturbing.
Jackdaw, Does it surprise you?
-- answer removed --
JACKDAW, 8.73% of Britain First votes chose Khan as 2nd choice.
Intriguing. I would have expected 0%.
//London has a Labour Mayor, who also happens to be a Muslim.//

@15:44

As a "labour" mayor. What is his stance on gay and women's rights?
Togo, he supports gay rights ... at least that's what he says. I don't know what, if anything, he's said about women's rights.
Naomi, it is the blatantly anti-semitic remark which concerns me. Have the police not been involved in this 'hate crime'? Sorry, forgot that this was Labour territory.
Has he told his muslim followers that? I can hardly conceive that one could be both labour and muslim. Talk about shape shifting.
I wouldn't trust what he says one inch. I posted this on another thread a few days ago.

//He’s a politician with great ambition – and he’s succeeding in that ambition! Do you really think his Islamic supporters would be waving their banners heralding the triumph of the election of a Muslim London mayor if they really believed he supported same sex marriage and women’s rights? More likely they’d accuse him of apostasy and slap a fatwa on him!! Never forget Taqiyya – deception in the cause of Islam – which includes gaining the trust of non-believers in order to take advantage of their vulnerability to defeat them.//
Yep, Naomi. As I mentioned on another thread re Lenin's attitude to moderate socialists, 'Useful idiots'.
Jackdaw, I think that's about right. Blind as bats!
