Up North the place is/ was awash with saturday night specials. It was a garden shed industry in Manchester in the Toxteth riot days. Much redundant engineering skills and a lathe builds you a good replica lethal gun.
The armoury at Molesley st nick GMP has hundreds on a peg board display. Even replica/firing Stens

/// Update 0845 — Local witness insists there was no ‘Britain First’ shout
While interest today is swirling around whether the killer had a political motive, and whether indeed he did shout “Britain First” as he attacked Jo Cox, a local shopkeeper who was a first hand witness to the attack has placed a notice in his window clarifying exactly what happened. ///
/// Spotted by an LBC reporter, the message in the landerette’s window says: “Please note, I did not tackle the gunman. And no one shouted Britain First at any time.” ///

/// Well why single out one aber AOG, ///
As I have already explained to mikey I did not specifically single out him.
I merely chose mikey since he was the last contributor, so as to agree with his sympathetic sentiments, while at the same time also to take the opportunity to request that we all don't turn this thread into a political football.

Its quite clear to me OG, that the words "Britain first" are what this bystander heard.
But what is now in doubt is the context. There appears to be some indication that the man who was apparently responsible for the attack on Jo Cox had some right-wing leanings and that he suffered from a mental illness, but there is scant evidence that this incident was an organised political attack.
It has all the hallmarks of a lone madman attacking an innocent person, but we shall have to wait until later to have the whole story.

When I started this thread yesterday @ 14.19 she was already dead. She barely lived an hour after the attack and died at 13.48. It was 5pm before her death was announced on TV. I don't know why but it seems even sadder, if that is possible, that we were all wishing her well but her fight for life was already over. I hope she's in a better place now.

*** An eyewitness to a shooting in Birstall, which left Labour MP Jo Cox dead, says he saw a man holding a gun and shouting "Britain first or put Britain first". ***
Well here are his exact words, taken from the BBC's link kindly provided by Old_Geezer.
A big difference between 'BRITAIN FIRST' and 'PUT BRITAIN FIRST'.

/// Yes, and I made that quite clear in my post of 12:05 today AOG. ///

No and I did not say that you did.
I was simply responding to your comment

You made it perfectly clear, that to you that is what the bystander heard, when even he wasn't too sure.

I was not making any "wide-of-the-mark comments" Mr smart a***.
I did not even suggest, that the perpetrator was or wasn't acting on behalf of any far right organisation.
I was merely questioning mikey444's remark:
/// Its quite clear to me OG, that the words "Britain first" are what this bystander

So before you jump in again on matters that you don't understand, use your 'brain' and try and come to the correct interpretation.
