The witness heard the assailant shout ".........Britain First" he concedes that there may well have been a "Put...." at the start and has stated that on TV.

I would suggest that it may be that Ms. Cox was assaulted because of her support for Syrian refugees - she has started an All-Party Support Group in the Commons.

This is such a tragedy for everyone involved.

Could be her support for Palestinians. Could be her stance against Corbyn. The fact of the matter is nobody knows. I thought the first person who was supposed to have heard 'Britain First' now denies anything was said. The person who was later interviewed and repeated that has admitted he wasn't there at the time. The media seem to be making a case built on speculation. I've heard he went to the library every afternoon. Could it be as simple as having his routine disrupted. Who knows?

BBC News reported on this evening's news that the man they have in custody, Tommy Mair, must be charged tonight or released. Why hasn't he been charged? Is there any doubt that he is responsible? I don't think so.

I don't understand that. This happened yesterday. Police can hold someone for up to 96 hours before charge.

They can apply to hold you for up to 36 or 96 hours if you’re suspected of a serious crime, eg murder.
