Could There Be Another Eu Referendum?

Is there any possibility that the UK could have another referendum on leaving the EU? There seems to be widespread shock at the result and furthermore it would appear that a lot of people who voted to leave didn't have a clue if the real ramifications.

I know that they said it was a one time vote but that could have been politics speak. Is there a chance that if there seemed to be enough of an outcry at the result that they could have one final vote to see if the result would change?

I think I know what you mean dodger, although I think there an accidental double negative
Jim you seem to be forgetting the 17 million plus who didnt believe we couldnt survive and prosper alone.
have the government actually invoked article 50 yet? the referendum vote cannot have done so, it's not legally binding.
As everyone knows we are leaving why delay on Article 50 - unless the government doesnt have people good enough to deal with the negotiations.
There has been talk of the EU itself invoking Article 50.
The sooner the better Danny then we`ll se their true colours.
The EU want us out anyway. Many have never thought of us as Europeans because we are not they put up with us due to the huge sums we paid in. Secretly many must be rubbing their hands in glee at the thorn in their side gone.

They need us to go quickly or others will follow so in a way we hold the trump card. The Germans seem to be talking sense its only the eurocrats that are seething in indignation. Merkle will soon put them down.
What is needed now is for the government to accept the status quo and knuckle down to sorting out what needs to be sorted.
We're not out of the EU and it is possible we may not leave at all.
Why didn't Dave invoke article 50 ... Who will press the button?
It is not legally binding. We have been asked for our opinion but as yet that is all.

C'mon this is politics anything is possible.

Talbot
It might not be legally binding but it is morally binding and Herr Juncker and the Eu have accepted it.
morally binding?

I repeat ... this is politics.
Who do you think we are asking folk to think again; the EU ?
//It might not be legally binding but it is morally binding//

if your kids voted from the back of your car that you should do a handbrake turn in the middle lane of the M6, would you do it because it was "morally binding"?
That does not even merit a reply.
Dave did not evoke Article 50 yet because it makes sense to move slowly, letting things settle, and work out exactly how to proceed.

Remember, with the exception of Greenland, we are into new territory here. No one else has had the guts to tell the EU, "Enough".

Juncker is simply mischief making when he pretends it makes no sense not to go immediately and cause maximum turmoil and market uncertainty in an effort to cause as much turmoil in the world's economies as possible. He's rapidly losing whatever credibility he still held.

If this, or is an election occurs first, the next, government didn't proceed with withdrawal, I'd predict a riot, in fact multiple ones. Unless someone insane got elected and appointed, no PM would even consider it.
That's a bizarre analogy, Mush.
If your kids voted from the back of your car to plead to you that you don't do a handbrake turn in the middle lane of the M6, would you comply because it was "morally binding"?
I didn't mean invoke it the day after OG I meant stay around and invoke it.
There will be talks somewhere of how the situation can be reversed.
Ah. I suspect because his heart wasn't in exit, he had been embarrassed at the result when he fought so hard for the alternative, and decided to get out and leave it to those who wanted it. I'd have preferred he stayed for a while for consistency/stability reasons, but I guess he has in as much as he'll be there until a different leader of the Tory party is chosen.
see this it explains very well re a 2nd referendum and rules
