Could There Be Another Eu Referendum?
Is there any possibility that the UK could have another referendum on leaving the EU? There seems to be widespread shock at the result and furthermore it would appear that a lot of people who voted to leave didn't have a clue if the real ramifications.
I know that they said it was a one time vote but that could have been politics speak. Is there a chance that if there seemed to be enough of an outcry at the result that they could have one final vote to see if the result would change?

I doubt it Gromit. Any group of people that introduce such dangerous and farcial policies such as the Euro and Schengen should be cut loose. God knows what else they had planned had the UK voted to remain. It's all good and well having a "fluffy" and "nice" view of all that is European but let's face facts.

Mr Cameron stated, long before the vote (and he repeated it yesterday) that although this referendum was not legally binding (there is no facility for a “legally binding” referendum in the UK) its decision would be acted upon. People calling for a second referendum (presumably “Remainers”) should understand that under UK democracy you don’t always get what you want. Many of them must have been conditioned to believe in the EU model prevails – that you vote and vote again until the “right” answer is produced. Many people who voted to leave (me included) have seen their wishes for a vote denied for a quarter of a century. That’s life, democracy dictated that we should not have one. Now we have and the answer has been given.
The idea that people did not realise the ramifications of leaving is absurd. There are risks and advantages to leaving but equally there are risks and advantages to remaining. Both sides have had the best part of six months to put their case. People who voted to leave did so for a variety of reasons but they were well aware of the issues involved. It is arrogant and insulting to suggest that they are not intelligent enough to cast their votes.
The EU is now putting pressure on the UK to start the leaving process. For once I agree with them. They have to make adjustments to cope with our departure and it is unfair to expect them to hang around whilst we post our letter of resignation. Mr Cameron needs to come out of his obvious denial. There is no justification to delay invoking Article 50 until he leaves at his leisure. The work needed to see our departure will be done by a team (of mainly civil servants) not by him ministers or MPs. I heard just now that no such team has yet been assembled. This further demonstrates the arrogance of our politicians: it simply was beyond their understanding that the electorate would go against their wishes. To have no plans for Brexit in place is irresponsible in the extreme. If Mr Cameron is not prepared to accept responsibility for what needs to be done he should move over immediately and let somebody else do it.

Two days after the Brexit vote we already see 2 main players in the Remain camp show their true deceitful colours.
Obama was bullying the UK and Brexit voters at the behest of Cameron. We go to the back of the Trading queue in the US if we thing we can open free trade agreements world wide.!!! Well it achieved the required result from his chosen few in Lambeth but the rest of us voted for our country! Several U.S. Industrial magnates said,Bring it on. Quite a few business concerns ready to do business with us limeys.
Remember the 'experts ' from the CBI who were parachuted in to Project Fear to predict doom and gloom by Cameron and the Remains.
Remain voters on AB were saying why and how can we ignore the advice of established financial experts?
Well we did and lo and behold Carolyn Fairbairn General Director of the CBI has said, today, the UK CAN prosper now we have left the EU !!

and dont kid yourselves, theyd take us back so fast you wouldnt believe it, but wed be in the top chair and telling them whats what...money talks..
Adolf Merkel, Junkers, Schulz, Tusk need to go, they are the ones that brought this upon themselve because of their arrogance and sheer megalomania in wanting this new world order how they saw it and wanted to dictate it and rule the empire they tried to create.
We dont trade with the eussr but with companies within it that have their hands tied by eussr anti-competition rules and red tape etc etc...we will continue to trade with them and make deals and make money, thats what business and people do...and have done for around five thousand years

Unsurprised. Almost half of those who voted didn't get their way. Only takes a percentage of them to get in a strop to run up a massive petition figure. Let me know when the number of signatures is greater than 32 million.

The reason I asked is because I think we've done it twice in Ireland (reheld a referendum) Both times it passed on the second vote. The reason that one of them didn't pass the first time was basically a vote against the current government rather than against the policies of the referendum.
And, as I say, it certainly appears that many people didn't know all the details of what leaving means. And, although it was all carried out democratically, there is something uncomfortable about people aged 60+ pushing through a decision that young people are obviously against.

I hope not (even tough I voted to Remain ) I for one cannot wait for the nhs to be pumped with the extra £350m a week Boris and his Brexit bus promised.
I also cannot wait for Boris to be our next leader, (fingers crossed ) I loved him on Have i got news for you both as a presenter and as a panelist. Im sure his buffoonish persona is all but an act and he is in fact a very intelligent man who can lead this country.
