That is your view, to which of course, you are entitled.

I don't see anyone as 'the opposition' - and people are obviously free to agree with my view, disagree with my view, criticise my points, or simply ignore me.

That has not changed since Day One - it is not going to change now.

The problem is the diagnosis of mental illness comes within an hour or two of the attack, that's a pretty quick, unreliable and inaccurate diagnosis, 2 or 3 days later maybe but not as quick we are being told.

It's becoming patently clear the authorities are playing down any incident that may be terror related by claiming mental illness.

The problem is Daesh put out a callto their followers to attack the West in any way they can, then we get a rash of these attacks that all of a sudden mental illness is the cause. Why didnt it happen before.

Now I'm not saying these people are not deranged but it is most likely in many cases they would not have done it without being wound up by their religion. Therefore the underlying cause IS terrorism, even if that does not fit the agenda of the hand wringing liberal left.

Has anyone thought this story through, and considered a couple of the facts in the story.

Right now, all we know about the woman is that she is a 52 year old Filipino.

Now, if you look up the religious background of Filipino...you get the following:

Religion in the Philippines. The Philippines proudly boasts to be the only Christian nation in Asia. More than 86 percent of the population is Roman Catholic, 6 percent belong to various nationalized Christian cults, and another 2 percent belong to well over 100 Protestant denominations.

So why are we even assuming terrorism?

Did she shout 'Allah Akbar'

Is she wearing tradition Muslim garments?

Or have we got too caught up in the narrative to think clearly?

Thank God "we" have got SP to provide important insights which could easily be missed.

On your demographic point, SP, the Philippines has a Muslim population of 5+% I think. There are Muslim separatists and various al-Qaeda type groups performing terrorist acts. Here's a recent example:

I don't know whether the Filipina is Muslim or not, but you do understand how the modus operandi (random attack on strangers using a sharp weapon) might remind some readers of other recent attacks.

Noticing the similarity is not the same as jumping to a conclusion, although why the jump deserves "comprehensively dim" rather than merely "premature" I don't know. Let's take bets: what is this woman's religion? The "smart money" doesn't go on Mormonsm, does it?
