It cannot be denied, that if we didn't have the mass immigration into this country that we have had, we would have more housing stock, and more benefit money etc etc for our own people?

Judge Pontius has spoken from clear experience he has witnessed in his career, no point in denying that.

What is to be done? The message sent out has to be clear, commit crimes here and you will be dealt with harshly.

The cost of interpretors is a large factor too - much more needs doing re the language issue.

Will we start to see change now, maybe but everything seems to be very slow.

...because infrastructure is entirely dependent on tax revenue and the general health of a nation's fiscal policy relative to the aforesaid revenues.

Bluntly - you cannot take a single element (populous) out of that equation and expect all other elements to remain intact.

Without immigration, there is simply no way to determine how the UK's economic growth (especially in the 'white hot' era as espoused by Wilson) would have turned out.

To say, 'Without mass immigration, we would have more money for XYZ' is a massive and unsubstantiated view on how ecomomies work.

I agree with you sp. It's a bit like saying if white British born people stopped having babies we would have more resources for the health service etc or it would solve the housing crisis forever.
Back to the OP, the judge has raised some valid concerns and hopefully a way to improve the situation can be found. One thing that may help is for 'foreigners' to be made to feel a bit more welcome instead as being portrayed in the Mail and on AB at times as a drain on resources/ terrorist sympathisers/anti British, workshy

True the vast majority are non of those things just as the vast majority are actually made to feel welcome, but you can hardly expect people to keep a welcome in the hillside for the people this judge is referring to (well maybe someone might keep a welcome in the hillside)

I agree Talbot- but I was saying that the general focus and attitude on race and immigration from too many people may have contributed to these people feeling disengaged before they ended up in court.

This thread has shown there is some confusion about terms such as uncontrolled immigration and mass immigration which are banded about but not properly defined so the discussion is not meaningful

I wasn't cherry picking. The facts I've provided show that crime has gone down 7% in a year. How can our judicial system be 'overloaded' when crime has gone down?
