It's no moral dilemma to me. She seems to have risked infecting many people with the disease she felt compelled to treat the victims of.

It can not be ignored, regardless of how much she did that was right beforehand. Apologies I'm uncertain what action is appropriate if she is found to be as reckless as described. We don't need an outbreak of Ebola here, it was rather foolish and the consequences could have been disastrous.

Just a thought - could it have been taking short cuts with the procedures which caused her to catch ebola in the first place?

I would have liked to have seen the AB comments had she infected others in this country. I'm certain that any sympathy would be out the window in that eventuality!

Totally agree with Zacs, not only because of the risk she knew she was posing to anyone who came into contact with her but also how can anyone trust a health care worker who does things as underhandedly as this! Any professional in health care who flouts their position and puts anyone at risk by their actions should be brought to book in my opinion.

Nurse Cafferkey has many things stacked against her, not least being British and white, marking her out for the full force of officialdom to come down on her.
Maybe far-flung strife-torn places should be left to get on with stuff themselves.

I think that might be something of a cynical and overly simplistic view - perhaps you were being sarcastic, it's hard to tell in print.

That's all very well, but if you leave 'stuff' like hugely infectious diseases to travel around the world unchecked, those 'far flung places' can get a lot closer really quickly!

Both of these people would like to see her struck off asap.

Will not face charges of dishonesty. No case to answer. Ms Cafferkey's decision-making was impaired due to illness on her return from Sierra Leone.

In which case I don't see how one can can go ahead with submissions on allowing an incorrect temperature to be recorded and leaving without reporting her true temperature. Either she isn't responsible due to impaired decision making, or she is. It seems to suggest authorities want it both ways.

she acted in a highly irresponsible manner..she knew she had a temperature..she knew what risk she posed to a great many people..yet she masked her symptoms by taking paracetamol and carried on.....she should be struck off and face criminal charges in my opinion...

So,her decision making was impaired and therefore,not dishonest,but not impaired to the extent that she could still be responsible for allowing an inaccurate reading to be taken,etc.

That's all cleared up nicely then :(
