When I was receiving careers advice at school,I and a lot of my peers had aspirations of joining the police force. This wasn't that long ago but I would not touch this profession with a bargepole now even if I was offered the job on a plate. There are a lot of brave cops out there who literally put their lives on the line in some of the difficult situations they face....

AOG....there is no evidence that the Policeman was in any danger himself. There is no sign that the chap in the car had a gun.
The Policemen should have called for assistance if he had felt threatened.
The Policeman is clearly in the wrong here, and thank goodness that there was film of this incident.

The upholder of the Law thought Leon ( for it was he ) was driving without a licence altho Leon tells him foo de window he has a licence
and that should be basis ( or was anyway ) for a lawful arrest ( suspicion of a crime even tho one hasnt been committed ) -
but he wasnt arresting .....
will the police pay for the damage ?
will the policeman get "advice" from his superiors ?
will the police take notice that their own video seemed to have been turned off [so no record hur hur hur] but one was taken anyway. And confidence in police procedure was so low that it was put on the internet immediately.

It is similar to the arrest procedure, some are willing to be handcuffed and taken away, while some choose to resist arrest most violently needing for about four cops to pin them down to the ground.
Then if that person dies from a heart attack, all hell is let loose.
What these people must learn is to abide by the law and things are much easier.

There is no evidence that the Policeman would not have lost his temper if the chap had got out of the car. The man clearly terrified and felt threatened.
Why did the Policeman need the chap to get out of his car ? As I understand Police training, a possible suspect is a lot easier and safer to handle if he is left in the car, while reinforcements arrive.
I am not sure why some people on here are reluctant to castigate this cop ?

You mean surround the car with the SWAT team with police marksman on the rooftops surround our friend in the car?
OR do you mean send for the equivalent of a specialist from the FBI Behavioral Unit from Quantico to "coax" him out?
Bottom line.......how do you get this guy out of the car and our friendly officer provided a solution.

" perhaps in your part of the world it is common for windscreens to be staved in by the police but not where I live and I would have filmed it using a camera on my 'phone, as it appears was done in this case.
