I think many of us, on both sides of the divide understood that the decision of the referendum would need to be ratified by parliament before it could be implemented. I certainly did. In fact, all we were ever promised was a referendum.....not a binding referendum, nor one with a timescale for implementation.

It's not what we think. It's what, by virtue of a LEGAL ruling has been proven to be fact.
Am I missing something here? It seems to be a given that Parliament will not approve Brexit. Don't think so.
A legal can be overturned as has been occasioned many times in the past.

Jack and Danny might want to read my 11:14 post.
Zacs-Master, yes, it is what you think. If it wasn't there would have been no legal ruling and you wouldn't be heralding that legal ruling. You and the people who are intent on making waves would have accepted the result and allowed the process to go ahead without all these obstacles that are being deliberately created. Poor losers the lot of you.
naomi, my 'theory' started as a 100 % joke! But as it goes on there seems to be more and more to support it! I am being constantly astounded as yet another piece of news emerges that suggests it could be less than just my imagination . Hell even TTT has admitted that 'there may be something in it!'
Eddie, if it makes you happy, fine - but I think it's nonsense.
The will of the people may be a "croc of *&^%" technically and to the SGB, MPs, remainiacs etc but morally it should be respected. In the end the ballot box is supreme and as the US recently demonstrated, the people will exert their power when given a chance. Are you prepared to use any device to ignore the result of the referendum because it didn't go your way?
//It seems to be a given that Parliament will not approve Brexit. Don't think so. //

parliament are unlikely not to approve brexit. but what's likely is the insertion of all sorts of amendments which will prolong debate and provide many more opportunities for remainers to "talk-out" the legislation and make it fail.
There is a procedure to deal with that. It's called the Guillotine. Worked wonders in France.
hopefully they use a non amendable bill and just get it through asap.

I'm loving all this 'intent on making waves' ' morally it should be respected' stuff. The Brexcietables are obviously rattled. I can't really understand why tho. It was never going to be a simple process and was never guaranteed as was evident if one did a little research.
it should be a simple process, It's the delaying, spinning, of the SGB that's causing the problems.

Naomi. Why are you suddenly unable to distinguish between an opinion (what we think) and fact (a legal ruling)? You're always trying to point this distinction out to others. In fact it seems to have become your stock answer to almost everything these days.
Question Author
How can a legal ruling be taken as 'spinning'?
the whole process launched by that Silly woman spun this out if she'd not have started that whole legal mess then the PM would be free to invoke A50 without all this tedious messing about.

Big 'if'.
Zacs-Master, // Why are you suddenly unable to distinguish between an opinion (what we think) and fact (a legal ruling)?//

I am very able to distinguish between the two, and that’s not a sudden innovation – but I am acutely aware of the change in the attitude of the Remainers since that legal ruling was announced. Now, rather than throw their toys around as they did before, and rather than admit they think the will of the Leavers “isn't worth a croc of sh#*”, as they did before, they instead hide smugly behind the ‘law’ as the reason for their reluctance to accept the result of a democratic vote. What a cowardly bunch they really are – in more ways than one.

How would you expect us to react? I'm a smug as a bug in a rug my dear and I make no apologies.

You and Tora both sound like the unmasked bloke at the end of Scooby Doo "if it hadn't been for those meddling kids.....". Ha!
Zacs-Master. //I'm a smug as a bug in a rug my dear //

I know. That's exactly what I said. You have nothing to be proud of.
