" - not as pleased at the result mikey but I would accept it under the system they use. The numbers and percentages of votes are irrelevant because that is not the system they use. Would you have been happy for UKIP to win 75 seats in the last election? I accept the system we have and that also means the percentages and numbers of votes are irrelevant, we don't use PR neither do the US, that also explains why the opinion polls are total BS. Stop comparing irrelevant figures and accept that Trump won under their rules.

Hans....The Referendum result is no doubt, and I am not disputing it. LEAVE got a few more votes than REMAIN. I am disappointed in the result, but I repeat, I am not doubting the outcome.

But in America, Hilary got 2 more million votes than Trump, but still lost.

What is the connection between the BREXIT vote and the Presidential vote please ?

Mikey, he’s been elected by the usual process. You banging on about it isn’t going to change it. Going by your reckoning UKIP should have had a good number of seats in parliament, but they haven’t because the system we use doesn’t work that way – and neither does the American system. Please tell me you’re not going to carry this on for the next four years.

In the FPTP system, UKIP got exactly the amount of seats that it was entitled too....ie one. The Tories won fair and square.

If you are advocating a system of PR, then please start your own thread and see how it runs. I seem to recall that we were offered a vote on one system of PR, just after the 2010 Election and it was roundly defeated.

But in America they also work the FPTP system, but are hampered by the EC issue, which has distorted the result.

I ask the same question again....if it had been Trump that got more votes, would you be content if Hilary had won instead ?
