Their Market their rules, but I fail to see why people not interested couldn't just walk past a stall in a busy area.

Bet they walked past many that didn't appeal to them.

The organisers presumably approved the stall. I'm not sure why the locals were as intolerant as the reports suggest and made such a fuss. It looked like a commercial Christmas market rather than a Christian event.

I think that anything that is set up in a public place, and has 'Muslim, Islam,' or something similar on it, could expect the same knee-jerk reaction.

I think given the number of Muslims foisted upon the People of Germany in recent months that there are most likely an awful lot of Residents who feel that way.

If you look at this report, it’s all alleged this, and alleged that, and inverted commas everywhere – in other words, it’s rumour and gossip and not a sustainable fact to be found anywhere. Add to that the banners that are for other seriously interesting stories like a man punching a kangaroo in the face because it had his dog in a headlock, and there was a UFO-shaped cloud seen in the sky, I think you can judge how actually believable this piece of intolerance-inciting pap actually is.

"Their market, their rules" would be fine but the Metro article seems to say it was the residents who ordered them to leave- the organisers were not mentioned as having given the order.

According to the local newspaper, the stand organisers decided to remove their information stand because they had received anonymous threats. They were disappointed at the lack of support from the mayor.

It is a Christmas market which actually has more in common with worshipping Mammon.....like most markets at any time of the year.
