But he wouldn't be here, shoots, we're not in Schengen and our borders are impregnable ...
jno, //shame he was killed; he might have been able to give useful information about others. //

No doubt he'd have been all co-operation!
I feel much more secure after being reminded of that Dave...

(Where's my pistol?)
Will Merkel now try and change the system?
Damn him...I won't get my fee for torturing him - oops, sorry, 'interviewing' him.
Seems wide open for conspiracy theories to me.

What if he had been stopped by the police in the UK?

No I.D. to ask for or armed police to shoot him, after drawing a weapon on the police.

Are there lessons here to be learned here surely?

I'm sure our security services would have 'persuaded ' him to tell them what he knew
I feel very satisfied knowing that he's not longer at large.

Merry Christmas, everyone.
I personally would have preferred that he be taken alive so that any intelligence can be extracted from him.

But it is what it is.
you wouldn't be advocating the use of torture would you? because I very much doubt that had he lived, intelligence would have been extracted any other way - to date, human memory cannot be download to a USB stick.

OK so I can see that I have use the wrong words thanks to the right wingers for pointing this out to me.

He should have been caught and question and intelligence gained.

Happy now?
I can take no pleasure in death of any sort but it appears the Italian Police had no other recourse.

I am however glad he is unable to commit any more atrocities.
HE opened fire on the police, not the other way round. What did he think was going to happen, he obviously had no worries about who he killed. I'm sure he's died a hero to his mates.

//He was a suspect in this crime, not tried or proven guilty, so no, this is not justice. //

similar situation. Jimmy Saville was not tried or proven guilty. yet everyone says he's guilty as hell. seems like double standards to me.

Don't forget the bus driver ... he was tried on here yesterday ... and found to be guilty
I agree with Gladeian at 10:29.
