I couldn't care less where he has chosen to live, but what I do question is the fact that although he chose to live in a certain country he is now using the benefit his British citizenship along with his celebrity status to whinge regarding the rules of his chosen country of residence.

Now please do not try to derail this thread any further, either answer the thread's subject matter or no longer contribute, you please yourself.

Britain is still on a very high alert as far as security is concerned. We have to assume that the Thames Valley police have good reason (intel) in making this decision. If there were to be an attack where guardsmen were mown down by a terrorist, can you imagine the DM headlines in that scenario?

Cancelling seems to be unnecessary to me. Security must be in place -and how about issuing the Guards with ammunition so they can defend themselves? They have the rifles. In answer to OP, no - traditions should be continued, but necessary precautions taken.

It's interesting because whether a terrorist attack has taken place in the UK or abroad, a standard response has always been 'we can't let the terrorists win' and 'life must go on'.

Of course, we cannot second guess the intelligence or assess the threat level and we have to place our faith in the security services who have prevented so many possible attacks.

We all need to be vigilant but the collective resolve is such that although terrorists will win the occasional success, they will never win the war.
