Oh so this sort of thing has happened all the time then?

I have lived much longer than you and I have never heard of stabbings and sexual assaults on buses before.

Ah! yes I forgot, with modern media, we get to hear of these things nowadays.
AOG....millions of people travel by bus every day in Britain, without encountering any problems at all, other than the bus being crowded and late.

I answered your question honestly.
No.

The two crimes you have highlighted are not unique.

10 years ago a bus was ripped apart by an al qaeda bomb, ypu might have had cause to worry about travelling by bus then, but it is safer now.
// I have lived much longer than you and I have never heard of stabbings on buses before. //

You are so old you are losing your memory. You have posted yourself about a stabbing on a bus, so you not being able to recall ot ever happening before, is a worrying sign.

Dam savages!
Thanks Slacky.....that's settled then !
It's becoming less safe to TRAVEL......period.
A young male was repeatedly stabbed in 1993 while he waited for a bus. It's nothing new.
// It's becoming less safe to TRAVEL......period. //

No it isn't.
Gromit....AOG isn't suggesting that it is new.......he is suggesting it is becoming more frequent.
Also the "sexual attacks" SEEM to be a new innovation.
Gromit....10.33....LOL..that settles it then.
Sqad,
At 10.31 you asserted it was less safe, without offering any evidence to support that.

Buses probably kill a lot more people due to the pollution they emit, than any crimes committed on them.
Gromit......read it again.....I said that it is BECOMING less safe...BECOMING.

I have avoided and remain amazed at the headless mad rush to the internet to find a site which supports one argument. The IT does have a part to play, probably a major part in life, but never kick perception and experience into touch.
Doesn't anyone have any personal or original thoughts any more,or do we have have to bow to the IT for support|?
Morning Sqad !

I appreciate what you say but people need to be informed of some facts, rather than perception, which I suspect is at the heart of AOG's post.

No AOG. It's not less safe, as Gromit has confirmed.

It may be that it seems less safe though, in the same way that if there are a series of plane crashes, it feels as if flying has become more dangerous. However, this can be put down to short term perception, rather than overall trends.
Sqad,

Transport for London run the capital's public transpirt services. If you are not prepared to accept their figures, then there is no debate.

Thinking safety is getting worse because of two headlines in a week is not scientific or going to be right. It is an opinion based on a false perception.
Morning mikey
Facts? FACTS......as you know I the IT will only answer what the human prompts, which may be relevant or totally irrelevant and the website will respond accordingly.

I have developed less and leas a respect for website responses and certainly i take with a degree of incredulity some of the statistics or reports that we see, particularly governmental reports ( of both persuasions)
No mikey, I will stick to my perceptions and experiences.
