yes jno we've all done silly things but now with the power of social media a kraken is released that cannot one cannot ever get back. Making a prat of yourself in front of a few friends can, with social media, escalate like it did for this vulnerable young woman. I think it serves as an example of how powerful these apps are.

Imagine the poor celeb who is shooting a nude scene the next day. They think they have a spot on their backside but they can't get a good view in the hotel's bathroom mirror. They take a close up photo using their iPhone. Next thing they know, their backside is all over the internet ... because their iPhone automatically published ("backed up") their photo to their iCloud account, which had been hacked.
With your "friends", it doesn't have to be hacked. You can share iCloud access with who you like ...

Young people do need educating against the dangers but that has been the case for many years, drugs, sex etc but the fundamental problem is that at young people think they're invincible and their teachers, parents are fuddy duddies. By the time they learn the lesson it's often too late.
