i saw this on the news thread earlier, doesn't seem right at all. surely these products are essential, and not too expensive. perhaps they could be supplied on the NHS to poorer families.
//Nailit. If you want to (deliberately or otherwise) completely miss the point carry on//
That's very kind of you, thank you. But I'm not missing any point.
//There's an awful lot of negative comments on this thread...and it's all coming from the males of AB. I wonder why...
Are they so well informed //
Just to make clear... I have(or had) 7 younger sisters. My mother was 28 when I was 10years old. I have been married or co-habited with 5 women of child bearing age and had many more "liaisons" or affairs (when younger). Now I wonder what part of this modern phenomenon I am ill informed about? My Aunts and Grandmothers were not reticent either when it came to imparting knowledge that they thought I "had a need to know". Meeh.
Nails you embarrass the wilfully blind, who prefer not to look rather than admit an uncomfortable truth. Voyeurs all, but happy to condemn someone else for their guilty habits.
I think the safe sanitary packs on their FB are the ones aimed at Kenya where they also have a scheme running they contain //sanitary towels and safe hygiene kits//.
I believe they also do open days where they invite people to come and learn to sew pads that can be used too.
I imagine unsafe would refer to any old dirty rag being used as a tampon or pad, asking for infection there.
it saddens me to see anyone on benefits stereotyped as wasters who smoke drink take drugs etc..I was a benefit manager for years and know this not to be the standard...and if it comes to choice between buying food or sanitary protection then food will win....and some folk have to make that choice....so do not be so smug in your cosy little lives..but for the grace of God it could be you ...sanitary goods ought to be made available on a prescription type basis for those who need it..
