to let 16, 17 year old have the vote, this was from a

after all as they said you can have a child legally age 16, join the army, drink at home, so why not the vote.

given how many young adults there are in this age bracket, and if they had the vote now, i could see Labour doing better than predicted, seeing how it seems that they have a vested interest in their own futures and may well be more left leaning.

i know you can drink at 5 but not in a pub you have to be 18.

Why not? 15 to 65 seems a fair range to me.

Anyway - young people who are not clued up on politics probably wouldn't vote.

The legal age for joining the army is 18 not 16.16 year old's can enter an Army Apprentice School

I partly agree with TTT. I think anyone responsible for electing a member off the government should have some experience of life as an adult.

well think of a number mikey, but personally I think that society is maturing ever later and at 30 most of them can't wipe their own jacksy, I chose 21 to be conservative (with a small c) but in reality it's an arbitrary figure. Most people I meet these days are obsessed with soaps and facetwit, I would trust them to make a cup of tea. I'm so glad my tenure on this planet is closer to the end than the beginning.I have no confidence in the generation coming through and yes that includes my own kids.
