Good riddance !

Sqad But the procreation argument doesn't make sense, unless gay people are biologically incapable of producing children. And let's face facts - closeted gay people have been producing kids for millennia. So - homosexuality in itself cannot possibly be dangerous to society. Sorry Mikey but you should give best answer to JTH at 1139!! Made me guffaw!
"Judgemental??^^"

Judgemental isn't the same as wrong.
No but it's regarded as "wrong" when it isn't being expounded by the vocal minorities.
mikey on his moral high horse once again, what is the betting that he wouldn't have even started a thread on this had the MP been a Labour MP.
Togo

It really really really isn't the vocal minorities who do not think that gay people are a danger to society.

Or do you actually believe the majority of people in the UK believe that?
Question Author
AOG....yes I would, and if a Labour MP spouts this sort of nonsense and I don't condemn it, then please feel free to remind me !
It's his use of the term 'old dinosaur' which makes me laugh. I can think of another one, guess who? His initials are JC and no, it is not the Blessed Lord.
What on earth are you on about @ 14;21 sp? Firstly I can make head nor tale of it although you decided to attribute such claptrap to me, and secondly my 13:26 post was actually quoting you and making wry, but granted, mischievous comment.

There are lots of people on here today that are either defending Turner, or defending his right to say what he did.

But can one answer why gay people are "dangerous to society" ?
Togo

I may have misinterpreted your post at 13:59.

Who are the vocal minorities you refer to and what are they saying?

"But can one answer why gay people are "dangerous to society" ?"
I thought that I suggested a reason.......clearly not.
It was based on procreation.

But in answer to your previous question (How come they get so much "air play" then I wonder) - it's because gay rights is still very much a hot button topic.

The Civil Partnership act was hotly debated, so was the Equality Bill and then so was the Marriage Equality Bill.

Aside from this, the subject of same sex adoption will (and has) generate a huge amount of debate.

This is the reason why gay people get 'so much air time'. It's because there are issues surrounding equal treatment which many people (including gay people) will have a view on.

The same no doubt happened during the 60s in America due to civil rights (why do the blacks get so much air time?) and in the 10s in Britain due to universal emancipation (why do the women get so much radio time?)
Question Author
Sqad.....but there many, many millions of non-gay people in Britain, so how are the few that are gay, "dangerous to society" ?
"No but it's regarded as "wrong" when it isn't being expounded by the vocal minorities."

What?

Do you believe there can possibly be such a thing as a stupid opinion, Togo? Because if you do, there's nothing controversial about calling someone's opinion stupid.
Radio broadcasting did not come out until 1922!
Oh I see you are replying on behalf of someone else. Any inordinately vocal minority you care to name sp.....really really any will fit. But if you care to associate yourself with any in particular, I am sure I don't mind.
Sqad

But the procreation argument doesn't make sense, unless gay people are biologically incapable of producing children.

And let's face facts - closeted gay people have been producing kids for millennia.

So - homosexuality in itself cannot possibly be dangerous to society.

What would be accurate is this:

"Homosexuality is dangerous to society, when everyone becomes gay and penises and vaginas cease to function properly".

In that hypothetical situation, there is a danger to society. However, as homosexuality is not common enough to pose any threat to human existence, I think that it's safe to say that it's not a danger.

Think of it this way - a teaspoon of Ribena dropped into the River Avon is not going to make everything taste of blackcurrant, right?

Therefore it's not accurate to say that Ribena is a danger to the taste of water in the Somerset region.

Please expand.
