I know that polls are now expected to be wrong, and I am certainly not predicting anything dramatic, at this stage in the proceedings. I still expect the Tories to win on June 8th.
But all the Polls are looking very interesting. It appears that the earlier Tory surge has ground to a halt, and they are even going backward, whereas Labour is looking stronger every day.
I think its still too late for Labour to win, but its interesting to see that the re-launch of the Tory Manifesto was cancelled a couple of days ago, with David Davies appearing on Any Questions instead. Some Pollsters are saying that rather than Mrs May having a larger, more secure majority, that majority may very well shrink.
Normally I would consider voting for the Conservatives but they seem set to alienate various groups of people ie the oldies/pensioners.
For me the final straw was that the hunting of Foxes could become legal again. I hope that most people in this country find that this is an incredibly cruel 'sport'.
I have consulted expert opinion on strategic voting (my brother) and considered all my options ~ my postal vote will be posted off tomorrow.
Would be funnier still if she called an election having had a majority, on the grounds that she wanted a "strong and stable" government (that she already had, surely?) and ends up losing that majority altogether. Anything less than 320 seats and I'll enjoy laughing at her for years to come.
