Traded = tradgedy.
.PP: //..three or four aircraft dropping out of the air and no one says diddly squat //

People die from accidents. Other people die because other people for whatever reason want to kill them.

Is the ratio of deaths due to accident compared to that due to malice 10,000:1,1000:1? 100:1? Or some other number? And who care's?

You (not "you", I mean normal people) wouldn't want people who deliberately sabotage aircraft working at Heathrow, innit? Only PP and the mayor of London think this should be part and parcel of urban life.
Yet more slaying of the innocent and deafening silence from the 'moderate' Islamic community.
Yes the 8 minutes taken by the police is a small ray of comfort and exceptional performance. Dare I say I doubt any other nation would have been so quick to bring this to such a quick result.

/// Can anybody tell me how I can recognise the "good" Muslims from the "bad " ones when I am out and about. ///

The "bad" ones will smile at you and say hello.
Did Vulcan use the word "Islam"?

First I've heard of it in tonight's coverage.
Did get a quote from a witness "... in the name of Allah".

But the Mormon connection hasn't yet been excluded, has it?
Hang about, David Davis is talking about "lone" wolves. Or is it "known" wolves"? Or possibly wolves (after Old Blue Eyes) too few to mention, far less monitor?

/// Thank you goodgoalie, naomi and Mamya. My Goddaughter and her husband are travelling back from Euston tonight but I've just spoken to her Mum and they are safely on the train back to Manchester. ///

It is terrible that some have to hold such anxieties in a country that was once a such a peaceful and safe country.

/// 10ClarionSt, I'm not sure how you expect anyone to prevent random attacks like this. Tell me. ///

I thought you had already pointed out a solution (note I was careful not to say a "final solution") in a previous post, the one that was rewarded the best answer.

Not a criticism you understand, I agreed 100%.
AOG, when I found out about this last night, my first thoughts went to my Goddaughter who I have known since the day she was born 47yrs ago.Her and her husband had gone to London and were due back on the train late last night. I was so desperate to find out if she was ok, I felt I couldn't breathe. Fortunately I was able to get hold of her Mum, who told me they were safely on the train back to Manchester but it turns out, they were on that bridge earlier. As you say, it is terrible that we are now living with this fear. I am only one of thousands who suffer this terrible anxiety when this happens, it makes me so angry but it also makes me very very sad.
Of course we will get on with out lives....but not as normal....normal for me is not sitting outside my regular bar with a pint of Guinness and suddenly being surrounded by armed police and soldiers and watching, instead of the usual entertainment I'm used to, a man being hauled to the ground, questioned and taken away.....
Normal is not sitting in despair listening to news of another attack and wondering if one of mine was in the area....

And I don't want a whole generation of children growing up thinking this is normal life.....
My thoughts too gness. I don't want my children and grandchildren living in fear for the rest of their lives. x
mikey4444 Woken up to more bad news....oh dear !

Didn't you read about last night when you were logged in @ 01:16
My daughter now says she will not let her kids go on a school trip to London as she is too scared of what may happen.
I don't know what is the best thing to tell her.
Difficult Eddie. I think at the moment i'd give it a miss if you can. Some of us have to go or live there but if not then just wait. There appears to be a co ordinated attack, they are probably trying to disrupt the election. See how the land lies in a few weeks.
Eddie, my answer would be, don't go.
//Of course we will get on with out lives....but not as normal.//

That's a poignant remark, Guess. The first part is political rhetoric: carry on as usual - they won't cow us. The second is the actual truth: you restrict your teenage daughter's freedom of movement when there's a serial rapist on the loose, don't you? And, in that situation, all women , all parents are frightened. That affects our minds and changes our behaviour.

But persisting with my metaphor, there appears to be an ever increasing number of potential rapists.

"London Mayor Sadiq Khan said the capital remained the "safest global city" and would not be cowed by terrorism. " BBC

Well bless my soul, is that a fact?

I just had this feeling that I might have a lengthy wait for my question to Mikey @ 08:52, running true to form so far :o(
