Exit Poll Suggests Tories Have Lost Majority
Answers
To be honest all, I can hardly be bothered for now. I spent 16 hours yesterday in a polling station doing the clerking and am crunched. But one thing for sure, I could have told you by 12noon that something big was happening. We are of course not allowed to communicate when on duty, but it was striking how many young first time voters were turning up. It was obvious...

One of the companies that I work for is involved in the Exit Polls....they may be others as well.
They don't conduct the Poll at every Polling station....that just wouldn't be practical, so they concentrate on marginal seats.
Reports are sent back, every hour, as the day progresses. The last report would have been made at about 21:30.
But lets not get too excited....we won't really know until tomorrow....labour could get even more seats !
( or less, of course ! )

There wasn't an EU Referendum Exit poll, so slightly different kettle of fish really.
I am not sure how seriously to take this one... yet. But as far as I can see, the margin of error will still keep May from having any kind of increased majority, at least. Maybe she'll scrap 330 seats or so and keep current majority, rendering the entire election a waste of time. Unlikely, but not impossible yet, for this poll to be wildly wrong after all.
Either way, this election night is going to be a lot more interesting than I'd thought.
