To be honest all, I can hardly be bothered for now. I spent 16 hours yesterday in a polling station doing the clerking and am crunched. But one thing for sure, I could have told you by 12noon that something big was happening. We are of course not allowed to communicate when on duty, but it was striking how many young first time voters were turning up. It was obvious...

I hope so..... !
Sorry Jim....we cross posted,

Can I ask everybody to take Jim's thread as the main one.
Trouble is, it could lead to chaos or at least many months of instability unless some unlikely alliances can be formed - maybe another election will be needed!
Oops I answered on Mikey's thread before I saw this one.

Great news, if it's right. Hope so!

Still too early to call it as an actual minority -- I think the 2015 exit poll was similarly cool on Tory chances -- but ... wow.
Wow indeed Jim !
Mikey, your thread has gone.
It's going to be a lot closer than May expected that's for sure.
OK poll watchers - when does the first result come in
and is it predictive ?
Thank goodness. It's a pain when you have to keep going backwards and forwards between the two.

Going to be an interesting night! Who's staying up??
If this exit Poll is correct, or even nearly correct, its shows that Labour and Corbyn have been successful beyond most people expectations, including mine.

It also shows that Mrs May has taken a huge gamble, and she has failed.
Smowy....me !
As I said on Mikey's thread, no one has ever asked me who I voted for. Where do these exit polls take place?
PP, the first result is always Sunderland at about 10.45pm. If Labour has lost this it would be bad, but I think it'll be fine :))
I've never been asked either.

Tilly....thanks, and thanks to Ed as well.
I think they tend to conduct exit polls at marginal seats. I was asked once, but it was the woman from the post office, and she was a rabid Tory so I didn't answer.
