Interesting to note, further down the feed, that May was "told" by the 1922 Committee to go on TV and apologise to MPs who lost their seats, having said nothing about it at all over the night or when she announced her intention to form a government -- and that there are rumours that if she didn't sack these two aides then she may well have faced a serious challenge to her leadership.

It's sad for the country that her decision to go to the country (which had my support) has achieved the opposite of its intended result. Her position as leader of her party and representati ve of her country in Europe seems to me compromised beyond repair. Yeah. But it would also be bad for the country, because this country would be governed by May until whenever the next election is, and I'd really rather she didn't do any more damage.
Besides, I think this DUP deal is going to end up being pure poison for the conservative party anyway so even without May I'm no longer worried about Labour's future.
