RAPE!! where by who? 'All Mummy wanted was a back rub' Was most likely intended to mean that the back rub just led to consensual sex by means of foreplay and seduction! Im sure a massage by a loved one has led to full sex by many on here!

I'm not offended...if that's their humour so be it..though I've never liked the excuse....boys will be boys....
What does annoy me are children's names on garments, bags etc....
Last week I saw for sale flashing light tags to attach to school bags....which is fine especially when walking home....but you could choose one with your child's name on.......
I thought that had been decided to be dangerous long ago....x

The way your OP is worded makes a response tricky webbo3 - I am unable to say if these solgans are 'offensive' - I can only comment personally, and say if I am offended. The wider context of something being 'offensive' infers that there is a definitive view of what is offensive, and someone can declare yes no, and everyone knows where they are.
This type of OP always brings polarised views - people who think it is wrong, and people who think that people who think like that need to lighten up / get a sense of humour etc.
The first I think is tacky - I don;t really feel comfortable with people declaiming their sense of humour via their childrens' clothing, I think that is wrong.
The second - taking issue really looks like reaching for an inference that i don't believe is either intended, or indeed viable. I read it as meaning that boys are boisterous, and tend to get into scrapes, because that is what boys do growing up. The notion that this infers an acceptance of sexually violent behaviour, I find frankly bizarre.

Andy....when you have to speak to parents about the awful behaviour of their son and you get the response.....
But Mrs Gness.....he's a boy and boys will be boys you know..... :-)
You know darn well that this lad is being given the go ahead to behave badly because that's easier than dealing with his behaviour.....which will probably get worse as he ages......x

But does it equate to rape?
Dave. //
If you want to see it that way - then yes.
If you want to see is as a hilarious piece of humour, then it`s that.
And if, as in my case, you think it's wrong to indulge your infantile / dubious sense of humour via your childrens`clothing, then it`s that.
It is all of those, my point is, that people have to choose a position that fits with their view, and go with that, there is no definitive answer to your question.

I take your point, married to an ex-teacher and head teacher, or course i do - but i don't think that a slogan like that is excusing or condoning bad behaviour in boys, or in men.
I am fond of the phrase "Women, you can't live with them ... that`s it" but that doesn't mean I think the massacre of the female population is actually a good idea.
