Perhaps in those countries that are not so acceptive to homosexuality, but surely there is now no longer need here?

“…wander to somewhere along the route of the march. You'll both be very welcome and have an excellent time. :o)” Two or three years ago I was unfortunate enough to be “somewhere along the route of the march”, not wandering but trying to go about my business. I’m not sure whether or not I was welcome (I would like to hope I was not). This was because my...

It's fun choosing outfits though Jno.
I don't choose to call them Bigots and Homophobes, they ARE Bigots and Homophobes, end of.

We get cut, we bleed, and guess what, the colour of blood is the same as my lesbian/gay/trans friend/neighbour/relative.
Please note that I simply don't like the streets clogged up with such nonsense. I don't care a fig who is clogging them up or what their reasons for doing so are. I just hope I'm not filed in the "bigots and homophobes" drawer. That's how, regretfully, this question seems to be heading.

Nice to see that my campaigns are embedded in certain ABer's minds.
You keep on tilting at all the windmills you like, AOG...
New Judge appears to be very irritated that he was held up for an appointment some time ago because he was caught up in a parade that he would have been able to plan around if he did not deliberately avoid reading about anything LGBT-related. Sounds like that was all your fault, not the fault of the people marching and having a good time which had been organised months in advance.

Also - people are allowed to not be normal, New Judge, so long as they aren't hurting anyone. Get over yourself.

Re: the OP, Pride is still worth celebrating. Most countries in the world do not accept gay people or afford them equal rights - the UK is one of the few countries that does, and that is something worth celebrating. It's a genuine achievement of our culture that we allow British citizens who love people of the same sex to marry and prosper and do not imprison them or harass them or oppress them as other governments do. That is - to coin a phrase - something to be Proud of.
Personally, I'm not calling anyone on AB a bigot or homophobe, but I know they exist in my village.

Now to be fair Judge there are some on here who would be speechless if you were to stop them delving into their bigot, homophobic, racist, Neo-Nazi, Fascist, Xenophobic, and Islamophobic draw.
Gosh, one would need industrial gloves for that drawer - yuk.

Are those in your village likely to inflect personal harm on your homosexual community, or do they just happen to hold a different option on them, to one that you so obviously do?
What if all these silly people with painted faces, dyed hair etc, were celebrating St George's Day...?
Just wondering...
"Also - people are allowed to not be normal,..."

Who said anything about the participants not being normal, Kromo? As I said, I don't care what qualities they exhibit, supposedly normal or otherwise.

Yes my explanation was about me being hindered. But that's not the nub of my point. My real gripe is that there is absolutely no need for anybody to take to the streets for reasons such as this. Streets are for getting from A to B and you can't do that if they're clogged up my marches. Yes I could have been more investigative before my trip but I didn't know I had to check out what particular foibles were being demonstrated every day when I go out for lunch.
I wouldn't care so long as they did so in the comfort of their own homes or their own back gardens. If they paraded down Oxford Street I'd be equally incensed because there's no need and it inconveniences many others who couldn't give a toss about St George.
one phobic was charged and sentenced for GBH against a homosexual man AOG.
Then pasta NJ and AOG would have welcomed them with open arms into a group man hug whilst all the time holding onto their manly jug of ale!!
I look forwards to the grumbles in November when the Lord Mayor's Show similarly halts traffic in the streets.......although I suspect that will somehow be a different kettle of fish.
Weirdos and creeps, NJ?!!.....Lunacy?!!

And are you telling me you will set off for an important engagement, in London, without checking for tube delays....station closures....road traffic accidents....and other happenings that can cause delay?
