I used to give blood on a regular basis when I worked for BT. The Unit came to our place of work twice a year. From friends still working there, it now appears that the Unit no longer visits. Not sure why.
It doesnt bother me if the testing is good, what bothers me more is how difficult it is to get an appointment to give blood. I booked in Feb and the first slot was July 24th! Thats tomorrow but after all this time I cant go now because I was at the dentist earlier in the week and I have had some treatment on my foot which will prevent me giving blood for 7 days.
I went to rearrange but the next appointment is late October, ridiculous. Eventually I looked at other locations and found a slot in August in a village 12 miles away. I cant imagine many people being this determind, so dont worry too much about prostitutes bothering to make it through the system!
