All of which nonsense is very annoying - because there is the germ of an interesting question buried beneath the implication that the Police treat 'disruptive behaviour' by different communities in different ways.

It seems, however, logical to wade in and break up a fight between (numerically limited) opposing football fans (who are unlikely to suddenly unite and take common cause against you) and prudent to 'contain and undertake surveillance' when you are the object of attacks by (potentially) unlimited rioters.

But it may just be because 'they is black' ...

I may be naif, but I'd like to think that the police/security forces know what they are doing.
Admittedly, there will have been some cock-ups in the past, I just hope that for once, lessons will have been learned.
