The NCA say that slavery is widespread in this country and they are heavily involved each week in trying to prevent it, as shown on the BBC News tonight. That news item should be shown in all middle east countries to let disillusioned immigrants know what they are letting themselves in for - slavery in the UK!

Probably better to show it in Albania, Nigeria, Vietnam, Romania and Poland. Those are the countries that the NCA have highlighted in the BBC story.

Or were you referring to another story on the BBC website which specifically refers to the Middle East?
Who are the traffickers? We really ought to question just what we are importing.
It has always been around. The big problem for the Police is that it by its very nature it is surrounded by secrecy.

What is happening now, due to immigration we have imported perpetrators from other countries to add to our own. This is why we need to have controlled immigration and not a free for all.
It always has been. It's just that it's publicized more now.
From what I saw, it was mostly people from Eastern Europe that were featured on the Beeb ::

Ah! yes, the wonders of modern communications, if we hadn't had wireless telegraphy Dr Crippen might never have been caught.
Dr Crippen was innocent, though...

The Middle East has plenty of slaves of its own.

Anecdotally...no links ....primitive media reporting.....but a lifetime of experience ( I think)
.
Street prostitution first encountered sqad ( or the other way round) in the 60's. Down market women, squalid arrangements for sex and primitive venues. 70's and 80's prostitution and massage parlours started to make an effort and the standard of merchandise improved.
Still no sign of sex slavery until 30 years later and then only "suspicions."
There is no doubt in my mind that immigration, particularly Asians has brought on it's back....sex slavery.
aog, he was convicted on entirely wrong evidence. The body was someone else. If it happened today he'd be free.

Sorry, Clarion, off topic.
might be off topic jno, but I found it to be a very interesting read.

Wasn't there some sort of media thingy saying if you see a certain sign written on the palm of someone's hand, they were desperate for help?
Can't remember what it was.

So, nothing to do with immigrants after all.
As I said in the past, if you use the car washes (you know the ones) it is highly likely you are supporting slave labour.
