So what's going to happen over the next 20-30 years that'll make it go away? Is the religion of peace going to get less barbaric going forward?

Well as far as I know, the problem did not take place on any significant scale before the 1970s, when wahhabism began to spread.

Plus saying the problem will last 30 years does not necessarily mean it will then stop, it means that it's as far ahead as he is willing to predict.
But new generations take over things all the time. No point hoping it'll die out.
what happened to the Victorian garrotters? The anarchist bombers? The IRA terrorists?
I heard Lord Evans being interviewed this morning. What he said was profoundly depressing, but not unexpected.

He also warned against Russia interfering in our domestic politics.
Who knows what will happen? The only way it will go away in the UK (and much of Europe) is if the people rise and take back their countries from the minority right-on liberal left.

//He also warned against Russia interfering in our domestic politics. //

Did he say anything about the way we interfere in other countries politics?
Its disgusting that our UK Governments (all of them, not just one party) have put us in this position.

I thought one of the main things ANY government of a country should do is protect its citizens.

But the mass uncontrolled immigration to this country has made it a FAR less safe country than it used to be.

And I am not just taking about Islam / IS etc, but hundreds of Asian men abusing teenage girls, Black drug dealers shooting people in the head while the person was sitting in their car (we had this in Birmingham a week or so back), young immigrant teenagers being stabbed to death every week, and hundreds of other crimes.

The UK is such as sad place nowadays.
I think that answers your question sp1814.
Are you saying Islam is a religion of peace ? That's not what the Koran says. There are literally dozens of directions in the Koran telling adherents to wipe out, kill, massacre, destroy, punish unbelievers. Read it and see.
Because that's just what the fanatics do. They read the Koran, and they see instructions to kill. And don't think the text can be modified or softened - it can't be.
// But the mass uncontrolled immigration to this country has made it a FAR less safe country than it used to be. //

yes yes good point Gool makes - only black people shoot each other ( never whites - no drugs see? )- black teenagers stabbing and often killing each other - totally unheard of before 1995.
no prostitution. The story of the fallen woman in the New Testament was Nazi propaganda - she wasnt 'fallen' she had been felled. By a black probably - or a muslim. or a black muslim - and like the true Brit she was - she didnt keep silent about it during the whole of the last supper.......

Meanwhile

As Kromo points out there was nt much of this until 1980 - arab religious terrorism. I was a much better Arabic speaker then than I am now - and used to chat them all up - one commented about the then outbreak of religious violence - -
" Islamic fundamentalism goes in a hundred year cycles -
and we are just about due for one. we get taught about this in our secondary schools. The last one was what you pink anglos call Mahdism in Khartoum in 1890"

and I was irrestibly reminded of this when Lord E let off on a thirty year suck for the present wave.

The only problem with putting such a thing on a thread such as this is that free-T will brilliantly quip - "Mahdism - vat when you are Mardy den?" and " you mardy all time pete - you da Mahdi den? "

and an ex-serviceman who really should know better will comment - "I put Mahdi fooder google translator and it didnt fink narfin' ! I didnt even bovver wiv Omdurman - stupid word that."

anyway a long haul is in main stream thinking

what happened to the screaming dervishes at Omdurman?
Churchill was there and he single handedly mowed them all down
( 5000 dead Mahdists and three British casualties - one twisted ankle, one sore trigger finger and s/o had burnt himself on a shot muzzle)

Oh you can see a Mahdist uniform in the brit museum - next to a brightly coloured Nigerian fabric - museums are so modern nowadays you see. no bullet holes

and there is a mahdist flag in the Ladysmith museum in Ashton - um in the Boer War cabinet. I did tell them what it was and they just replied... vootsac ! or something.

By analogy the resurgence Islamism should have ended in 1998 then.

Not my reading of the last twenty years.

In the absence of a Kitchener I suppose, what - wait for it to fizzle out?

Oh, didn't Chuck end up with his head on a spear sometime during all this?
But to reply to the OP, it's not going away, it's going to get worse. That's because no Western government understands what we're dealing with, far less has the will to resist it.

Meanwhile advocates of terror enter the country freely preaching to packed houses of moderate Muslims. This pair toured the UK last year. Now they're back attending a '... conference, organised by the Ramadhan Foundation... to "bring communities together and address terrorism"'.

The aim of the conference, organised by the Ramadhan Foundation, was to "bring communities together and address terrorism".

Doesn't the Home Office monitor visitors? I'm sure it stopped Geert Wilders entering the country a few years ago. I don't think Wilders has called on anybody to be murdered.

◾On their visit to the UK last summer, two clerics were allowed to talk at mosques up and down the UK, including in Prime Minister Theresa May's own constituency. By way of explanation, as the imam of the Madina Mosque and Islamic Centre in Oldham, Zahoor Chishti, said of the two clerics, "They have got hundreds of thousands of followers in the UK." For his part, the son of the murdered Punjab Province Governor Salman Taseer, Shahbaz Taseer, criticised the UK authorities for letting people who praised the murderer of his father into the UK.

◾Last year, members of the British government could have claimed to have been ignorant of the views of these two clerics. They could have pretended that they did not know that they were allowing into the UK two men principally known for encouraging the murder of apostates. They could have pretended to have been ignorant of the beliefs of two men who like to whip up crowds to praise murderers. But they cannot be unaware this year. So what are the excuses for letting them in? Are there any?

Douglas Murray

Some are just in abeyance jno, none have the influence a religion has to be passed on from parents to offspring for centuries and more. But it doesn't even need religion; may as well ask whatever happened to Argentina's insistence that they should own the Falklands, or Spain's insistence that they should own Gibraltar.
