I have noticed that the common factor between Jimmy Saville, Cyril Smith and Ted Heath is that they were all confirmed bachelors, never married, never seen with a member of either sex on their arm. They must have had sexual urges so it makes you wonder where it was channeled. I'm not saying all lifelong bachelors are wicked but it makes you wonder how they get through life on their own.

They can sit around looking deadly serious for the cameras as much as they like and say all the usual things but the fact of the matter is that Smith's dead and no amount of enquiring, hand wringing or anything else is going to change that.
He was let off by somebody and those people need to be identified and, if still alive, brought before the courts for trial, regardless of age, health or 'position'.
Only then can the great and the good get on with the business of ensuring their footnote in history.
