In the light of what as happened here, I won't be asking another question on the News section and before you all burst out sobbing, I will just be providing non question headlines, after all there are plenty that just do that.
But 80 plus answers is not bad considering many have said there is nothing more to add. lol

There is no 'gang' waiting to pile into AOG, in spite of him often assuming this wounded and sad persona, he is more than capable of fighting his corner.
If you are going to post often, and controversially, you are going to attract confrontation, and deal with it.
AOG is a long-serving member of this site, and knows this simple fact every bit as well as I do, and other regular posters do.
Sometimes, with the best will in the world, you drop off, say something foolish, have to stand corrected, and so on, that is part of debate on a site like this.
Taking a detached view of this thread - in my view the OP answered itself, and there is no real debate around the point made, so it has descended into something rather more personal than it should have done.
But AOG has played very much a part in that, so the notion that people are waiting to have a go at him is completely misplaced, even though he attempts to push forward that image on an almost daily basis.
If you post, you get responses, not always ones you agree with, not always ones you like, but that is how the site does, and has worked from day one.
If you step into the ring, you may occasionally get punched - if you don't like it, don't step in - but don't step in, give as good as you get any time, and then weep and wail that people are getting at you - it simply doesn't fly.

Yes. TTT's finally been bullied into avoiding rhyming slang so they've had to find something else to whinge about.
The stupid thing is that without TTT and AOG the news section would die on it's 4r5e. They probably ask half the questions in here between them.

Easily said when you are not the target for the pack of hyenas that hang around this site, with nothing more to do than gather together and pick on one sole individual.
Why you, yourself can't even take it when there is only one or two at you, so much so that their posts disappear in a very strange way.
As a self confessed moderator you should be putting a stop to this bulling, instead of joining the pack and encouraging it.

Any regular on this site knows that the strong characters who are frequent posters attract their fair share of hostility - and I do know that from personal experience - I just don't turn myself into a martyr over it, I defend myself every time it happens, and I accept that it is part and parcel of robust debate with people with views and the strength to express and defend them.
