So.... it appears that Leadsom making a complaint to Teresa on Monday was the real reason that Fallon "fell on his sword"

He jumped before he could be pushed.

I disagree, Cloverjo. People are entitled to work without feeling their colleagues are free to make lewd comments to them whenever they feel like it. These comments are said to have been made after Leadsom said her hands were cold; we'll just have to guess the rest. But I'd have felt upset if it had happened to me. It may or may not not be a crime, but I have no...

Here’s a man who’s fighting back. Damian Green has instructed libel lawyers.

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/damian-green-denies-claim-he-sent-suggestive-text-to-tory-activist-a3673171.html

According to television news the “suggestive” text message mentioned in the article was allegedly sent after a picture of the accuser wearing a corset was published in the Times, and said something like, “I saw your picture and wondered if you’re free for a drink sometime?”
Did you deliberately not read all my post jno?

I read all your post, ymb, but had no comment on your misfortune. If you want to put up with that sort of thing, that's your privilege. If others do not, that is theirs.

I wonder how you'd have felt if a male boss had responded the same way as Fallon seemingly did, if you'd said your hands were cold?

jno.....it seems to me that now its a leading Tory Minister that has had to resign, its somehow suddenly become "OK" for lewd comments to be made.

Can you just imagine the response from the Usual Suspects, if Labour had been in power and it was one of their Cabinet members that had to resign instead ?

Earlier, you said "People are entitled to work without feeling their colleagues are free to make lewd comments to them whenever they feel like it"

I heartedly agree, and that is why I gave you BA

Lets see what our resident Right Wingers have to say,
when the full truth about Kelvin Hopkins comes out. It will be interesting to see if they as relaxed and understanding about the MP for Luton North, as they are about the MP for Sevenoaks.
Are you just ignoring that a member of your party has been suspended pending investigation?
jno, //I wonder how you'd have felt if a male boss had responded the same way as Fallon seemingly did, if you'd said your hands were cold? //

What did he say?
A woman says her hands are cold and a man replies I know where you can put them, and she runs to the Prime Minister to protest, what sort of country have we become?
The reply was innocuous, it has several interpretations, why pick on lewdness?
I know several woman who are quick witted enough to come back with an appropriate rejoinder, not run off to complain, it's a pity this woman couldn't have done the same. It used to be called banter, now in this "enlightened" age it's called sexual harassment.
there's the rub.
One person's banter is another's harrassment.

According to' 'sources' Fallon is a Jekyll and Hyde character when he has had a drink.......and he's quite fond of having a drink.

I doubt if Leadsome is a lone recipient of his attentions/banter in HoP, she's currently the most high-profile.
"there's the rub."

Pretty much what Fallon said.
I do wonder what the Sunday papers will reveal ( if anything) re Fallon ?

Have you forgot that you only wrote this yesterday?

/// If and when any Labour MP resigns over a sexual indiscretion, you can expect the same comments from me. ///
If what he allegedly said is now considered abusive then I am surprised there are any adults left in the workplace, male or female. Some people need to lose their newly invented thin skin.
I must be ridiculously laissez-faire and need to be re-calibrated. I could probably think of 300+ men in my life who've made similar comments and odd squeezes. I wouldn't topple their careers over it in fact the majority I found flattering.

AOG....no...haven't forgotten, and its exactly what I will say. Unlike some, I am not defending this behaviour on Party-political grounds. Any politician, of any Party can expect the same from me......I have made that clear a number of times this week, so I am not sure why you are stall asking ?

Vulcan...I will ask you the same question that I have asked before. If what Fallon said is "so innocuous", why did he resign ?
Mikey, I'll ask again. Why haven't you commented on the Hopkins thread then?

Prudie at 10:31, I absolutely agree with you. Lost count of the number of times I could have made a fuss - not that I've counted.

/// Mikey, I'll ask again. Why haven't you commented on the Hopkins thread then? ///

I was just about to ask the same, also the reason of my earlier post.
Question Author
AOG....I have referred to the Hopkins case on this thread, as well as others but just to please you, I have now posted this :::

"This MP has been suspended, pending investigation.

If he is found to be guilty, I am quite happy for him to be treated in the same way as any other MP, of whatever Party".

I trust that you understand my position regarding this sort of thing.
So has Fallon been found guilty then?
I must have missed the investigation and trial!
Mikey, cooey! I asked the question too .... twice. ;o)
