So.... it appears that Leadsom making a complaint to Teresa on Monday was the real reason that Fallon "fell on his sword"

He jumped before he could be pushed.

I disagree, Cloverjo. People are entitled to work without feeling their colleagues are free to make lewd comments to them whenever they feel like it. These comments are said to have been made after Leadsom said her hands were cold; we'll just have to guess the rest. But I'd have felt upset if it had happened to me. It may or may not not be a crime, but I have no...

Does Kelv deny anything?
Oh, I see, lewd remarks are now 'illegal'

At what point is this nonsense going to stop?

It's got out of hand and is masking the real problems like rape and child abuse.

ymb....I shall remember your comments, the next time a Labour MP is involved.

If Fallon thought his remarks were OK, then why did he resign so suddenly ?
according to the Standard last night he was indeed pushed; May said he had to go.

Lewd remarks to Andrea Leadsom, forsooth. And a mere six or seven years ago. That is definitely below the standards expected of the armed forces, who should confine their activities to killing people.
I agree, ymb.
I said this on another thread yesterday.

//All this "sexual harassment" is too much now. Everyone is at risk of being accused.
Obviously, rape and sexual assault are serious crimes, but it now seems that anyone who's felt a hand wandering too far is a victim. It takes away from the sufferers of serious crime.//
Mickey, I see you avoided the Hopkins thread, I wonder why?
Just in case you could not find it try this linke: https://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/News/Question1578054.html

If you do bother to read it you will find I have the same attitude there as here.

False accusations eh Mickey?
Question Author
Talbot...one day, Fallon is saying that "his conduct "fell short" of standards"

A few days later, he is now saying that he "categorically denies" allegations that he made inappropriate sexual comments to Commons Leader Andrea Leadsom.

So....you work it out...which statement do you think is right ?
//then why did he resign so suddenly ? //

It appears now he jumped before being pushed.
Question Author
YMB...I am record as saying that this is not a party-political issue. I will continue to condemn ALL accusations of this sort.

Hopkins has the whip removed, pending an investigation.
Mikey, why are you avoiding the other thread?
It is not surprising though Youngbafbog, after all is it not what the social engineers have been directing us towards for decades? A culture of "reporting" each other for any perceived slight or transgression, a generation raised to take "offence" over as many minor and varied misdemeanors as possible? With the sanctimonious firmly in charge of investigations and punishment. Straight out of 1984 and an almost perfect copy of Miniluv.

Well, at least we agree on that....of course he jumped before he could be pushed, otherwise he would have stuck it out for a few days, before resigning.

It may or may not not be a crime, but I have no problem with it being outlawed in the workplace.
It seems the march to populate the world with po-faced talentless drones goes on apace.
Such advances don't always lead to rejection, often they can be the 'start of something big' and mutually advantageous, of course, this is only hearsay on my part ;0)
Mikey, Fallon says he" fell short of standards"
Didn't know the Cons had any standards.
Well jno we wont be having many women in the workplace then. I have worked in a couple of places where women were the majority, once where it was just me as the token man. Believe me women are certainly worse in the "lewd comment" arena. Some of things suggested to me are not printable on here!

It is part of life, one just has to suck it up - like I do.
Well, I for one deliberately misconstrue 'suck it up' and demand a resignation forthwith! :-)
I agree with Douglas at 07:56. I’m not sure where all this will end but the day that men and women are forced to stop flirting will be a sad one.
we wont be having many women in the workplace then

I would have said the answer was to have fewer men in the workplace.
