She is on her way back from Uganda at the moment. The question is, will Teresa wait until her plane lands at Heathrow before giving her the push, or will she sack her in mid-air ?

Always thought Boris was the Foreign Minister ?.
It has been admitted that she was trying to send ‘aid’ money to the Israeli army, which sounds very odd.

A letter in the Independent claims that the Isaelis were to divert the money to the Al Nursa terrorist group (affiliated to IS) and was to be used to buy weapons to ise against Assad and the Syrian Army.

That would account for the unofficial off the record meetings, and secrecy involved. The FO probably did know about the meetings beforehand, but cannot publicly admit to it. When they say they became aware she was conducting secret meetings in Israel, what they really mean is, they realsed her cover of a family holiday was blown.
Gosh! ^That all sounds very dramatic. James Bondish even.
mikey, is it the 'political animal' in you that prevents you from constantly getting Theresa May's name correct?

Or just stupidity?
It gets even stranger. The DfOA declined a meeting with the Israeli Security Minister Gilad Erdan, but Patel went behind their back and met him anyway, according to Robert Peston:

// The meeting which looks to have done for her was with Israel’s security minister Gilad Erdan on September 7.

What is most shocking about this meeting is that it had been declined on her behalf by her department officials. But unbeknownst to them, it was then fixed up by her constituency office.

None of her officials attended it. The meeting was not minuted or recorded. The only other Briton present was the businessman and honorary presidential of Conservative Friends of Israel, Lord Polak.
Of course there is an ideal opportunity here. Not only could the current post-holder be sacked but also the post could be abolished entirely. But more important than that, the £13bn budget that the department administers could be cut to nil and instead that sum could be spent on something useful.

Would that be about £350 million a week on the NHS ?
No it wouldn't. That's the sum bandied about during the referendum campaign.

This is a similar sum which, for all the good it does, might just as well be tipped down the rain.
What is wrong at downing street,? Ms Patel met TM the other day, now she's been summoned home, chaos !!!!

Talpot....(09:43)...if it gives you some grief, then it would have done some good at least !
Apparently Patel and Johnson are rivals and not friendly. A sacking of Patel will be taken as a victory for Boris and strengthening his leadership claim - something which May does not want to do.
She may getaway with a telling off and warning not to do it again.

Gromit :::::: "a telling off and warning not to do it again"

She has already had one of those, on Monday, and she lied to Mrs May then. How many more chances does she deserve ?
Mikey,
I’ve just read this in the Guardian which also concludes that Boris will be the main beneficery of all this.

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/nov/08/priti-patel-downfall-boris-johnson-nazanin-zaghari-ratcliffe

But it also says that May wasn’t as in the dark about the secret meetings, than she claims.

She's landed !

Tick, tick, tick.......
Would incontinence pants help you, Mikey?
maybe she will keep her job, irrespective of what she got up to.
Would be pretty hilarious if after all this excitement from Mikey it turns out that Theresa May just wanted Patel back in the UK to tell her that she was about to become Chancellor.
Question Author
Emmie....if May doesn't sack this daft woman, without any more undue delay, it will place her in the worst light possible, and will only speed up her own demise.

The Men in Grey Suits must be pulling their hair out in chunks.
Haaaaa! Go, Mikey! :o)
You're hoping she's not going to get sacked then Mikey?
