She is on her way back from Uganda at the moment. The question is, will Teresa wait until her plane lands at Heathrow before giving her the push, or will she sack her in mid-air ?

It's all very odd
Question Author
Hoppy....yes, odd, but hardly unexpected. Boris is up to his ears in this as well.

Poor Teresa !
Is Thersa May like a supply teacher, in charge of a class full of unruly children, waiting for a real teacher to appear?
I read somewhere that she had 12 meetings, during a private family holiday.
It just doesn't make sense.
//Tory MP Nadhim Zahawi - a member of the parliamentary foreign affairs committee - told BBC Two's Newsnight that he believed some of the criticism facing Ms Patel was down to the fact she was a pro-Brexit campaigner during the EU referendum.

He said Ms Patel was not having "clandestine" meetings with "an enemy state" and that the Foreign Office was made aware of the meetings while she was in Israel.//

All very odd.
Question Author
Hoppy.....if she had that many meetings during her "holiday" its a wonder when she found time to do all things that most of us do when we are on our hols ?

I have just heard on Radio 4, that she is hanging around at Entebbe Airport, having only just arrived, pending her immediate summons home.

This is like some kind of weird pantomime.
This is two more undisclosed meetings on top of the twelve.
Question Author
Poor Teresa...she can't half pick, can't she !
Question Author
My best guess is that she will be fired while she is in Africa...... certainly she won't be going to bed tonight still holding her Cabinet position.
Ugandan discussions. Paints a Priti picture.
Trouble here is May will not sack anyone, because she knows she will get the sack herself once Brexit goes through or does not go through.
Never was the advice to choose your friends carefully more apt. Now if she had been having tea and cake with Hezbollah, or Hamas, she would find herself being lauded by our anti Semites.
Question Author
Gulliver....Teresa has no choice but to sack Patel. This woman has lied to everybody, and most importantly, lied to the PM.

Sacking Patel will be painful, but not half as painful if she doesn't. She has no choice. She needs to show some balls in this affair.
What are we to make of this?

//the Foreign Office was made aware of the meetings while she was in Israel//
Question Author
She said that she had informed Boris, but had to admit later that she hadn't. She certainly didn't inform Teresa.

Patel is now a serious liability to Teresa and the Tory Party. If she isn't sacked immediately, then it will just be another nail in Teresa's coffin.
it's very strange; it's as if she was conducting her own foreign policy in spite of not being at the Foreign Office. I'm not a fan of Boris, but he's the man in the job and ought to be left to get on with it (preferably with his mouth shut).
Question Author
Just heard...Patel has been ordered back to Britain, with immediate effect. So its going to take at least another 9 hours before she will be sacked.
You said she was on her way back anyway, Mikey.
Yes yes, we're all very impressed that you can dance a gleeful jig while typing, Mikey.
Question Author
She has only just arrived in Africa, but has now been ordered to fly back again. She hasn't even been outside of Entebbe Airport.

Glee ? Well I didn't vote for Teresa and her party, and most people on here did, so permit me some glee at this continuing pantomime that is our current Government under Mrs May !
