I have to say that your 'feeling' is not stacking up particularly well against evidence of computer use that is a matter of record.
I have to reiterate, if the police wished to bury Mr Green, they could do so in any number of inventive and untraceable ways.
A pantomime of obtaining his PC and loading legal pornography on it looks far too tedious and tenuous to be worth their time.

As I just said on the other Damian Green thread. He would have been sacked instantly if it was not for the fact that Mrs May's position as leader is already so damaged and insecure that she can not allow another senior minister to be sacked. Sacking Green would destroy what little authority she still has. She has known Green since they were at University together and he is her deputy ,plus most trusted and reliable colleague, sacking him would inevitably lead to May being outed as well .
If Green goes May goes , the government will almost certainly fall , meaning another election which labour will win.

danny - // Andy, Have you not thought that the idea might not have come until after the computer was in possession of the police. //
I admire your tenacirty in clinging to this conspiracy theroy, but I can only repeat my assertion that if the police did want to damage Mr Green politically and or personally, there are myriad ways for them to do so that are far easier than trumping up a situation which, to date has done little more than embarrass him.
If they wanted him gone, he would be gone.

Danny....."a reply to that would probably invoke more sarcasm, so nothing to add"
So I take it you don't have a theory then.
I will throw the question open to anyone else on here today......
"Has anybody got a good theory how the porn got to be found on Greens office PC, inextricably mixed up with his normal use of the thing, on a minute by minute basis ? "

Naomi - // andy-hughes, //How do I do that? //
You're on AB when you're in your office - and I distinctly remember one occasion when a good deal of abuse was posted here from your computer, you said by a colleague, so you can hardly criticise someone else for misusing his employer's time and resources. //
Firstly, my use of my computer was a matter for my employers, and absolutely none of your business, but since you have raised the point, I will point out that my employers were aware of all my computer use, and they had no issue with it whatsoever, and since you feel the need to poke your nose into my relations with my employers, I am happy to point out that they are now my ex employers, so you can turn your unwelcome attention elsewhere.
As to the misuse of my computer without my knowledge, I hardly think that even you can draw a parallel between mischief on the Answerbank, and pornography found on the computer of a government minister.
Not even your desire to have a pop at every opportunity is going to make that one fly.

Talbot - // You made a point about the misuse of an employer's time and resources
Naomi made a point that you had also done that
I was responding to that ... Can't see why I shouldn't. //
Then let me enlighten you.
Naomi's off-thread digs at me are just that - and don't add to the debate, but I have answered her anyway.
You decided to come in and stir things - and you should acknowledge that yours and my spats have lost threads before, so once again I suggest that we return to the thread, and minimise the risk of losing it through irrelevant, tedious, off-thread exchanges between us.

// Andie, You're on AB when you're in your office - and I distinctly remember one occasion ..... yak yak yak blah blah blah // s/o
o god we dont really have an ABer ( as MamaL supposed ) trolling thro someone else s posts and saying - "yes yes look here - 5 1/2 y ago - Andie H was disclaiming about Dicken and Trollope when CLEARLY he should have been tilling out his employers travel claims." I am shocked
Such is the world around us - - the thing that upsets me is that a retired police officer can use notes made at work on an already decided issue - the CPS has already decided not to proceed
what is legal porn by the way ?
A photo of AOG (say) protesting at the flying bared breasts of NOtting Hill I would not regard as absolute filth but more an artistic expression of note.
