When we have no homeless, no elderly having to choose between heat or food, and can pay for life saving/life enhancing drugs for our own citizens, even if they are expensive, then perhaps we can think about helping out the backwards countries.

Eddie one of my cars is German, I also have other vehicles and items from around the world that does not mean I want to hand control of my country to them. I'm not anti the EU countries individually, I'm anti Us being in the EU and the insidious mass itself. I have no problem with their produce. We can be philanthropic when we are not in debt and everything here is rosy.

spathiphyllum, if that’s the case, why should UK citizens have to make even more sacrifices to pay for the backwards countries? Particularly as we borrow money. Where is the sense in borrowing money to give away to lost causes?
And ultimately, what good does all this money do? These people have been going through the breed/starve/die cycle for years, and nothing ever improves.
