two things - Lawrence ( any more eye shadow and we will have to call it Florence of Arabia - Noel Coward) was posted to the Arab Bureau and got chucked out as the files he compiled included un British comments on the sexual habits of the file name
and Cairo is near Alexandria ( nearer than London ) and before glorious liberation by Col Nasser - Alexandria was still a truly cosmopolitan city ( city whose culture does not reflect the surrounding countryside ) - and Greek was still used
Col Nasser's liberation included chucking out anyone not Arab.
Sadam did the same in Baghdad and chucked out the large Jewish minoirty some of whom had been there since biblical times
sorry Mikey - erm
I agree the Tories are windy about Brexit
back on track ....
hey has anyone noticed that sanctioned has two meanings - one is opposite to the other ?
H should be sanctioned - could mean he should be punished
but 'that activituy was sanctioned" can also mean it was allowed.
How very very AB !

I don’t think Heseltine is necessarily saying Labour would stop Brexit, rather that at least a labour govt would not be a permanent disaster, only a temporary one.
Corbyn meanwhile is out of step on Europe with the younger voters he has attracted to the party and also out of step with more traditional supporters because of his views on immigration.
Removing the whip from one of your MPs when you don’t have a majority would be such a wise move. Did I see the name ‘Tebbit’? ...

The UK is an Island nation, and so has never has had a land border with the EU . That is why we have had a special unique place , politically inside the EU yet physically outside.
But Brexit has ensured that we now WILL have a land border with the EU. The one between Northern and Southern Ireland. Both the Northern and Southern Ireland governments insist that that border can never be hard, closed, controlled or restricted in any way what so ever.
Scotland and London have both said that if Northern Ireland has any type of special relationship with the EU as in the form of any type of border, then legally they MUST also be allowed a border with the rest of the UK. Which means they must be allowed to stay in the EU and the UK with Scotland.
(as NI is just as much part of the UK as they are.)
As far as I am aware no one has yet come up with a solution to this problem, they are just hoping it will go away. Possibly someone knows the answer? if so please tell the government.

Entertaining to see that Lord Heseltine is still jerking peoples leashes and that the sock puppets think they can sanction him and shut him up. Bet he's terrified. Not.
Make no mistake he's a very clever, very powerful, very ruthless man, oh and very anti Brexit :) Watch this space as they say.
You don't want to be worried about old Jeremy but about Keir Starmer who is waiting conveniently in the wings, if you want Brexit to happen. House of Cards have nothing on old Tarzan and co :)
