since it's becoming increasingly accepted that gender is less about chromosomes, appearance or reproductive ability but more a matter of state of mind not necessarily requiring reassignment intervention (and the gender recognition act 2004 is likely to be amended to reflect this), are the "X-X" denizens of the Kenwood Ladies Pond Association being a tad unreasonable?

It's not a pathetic answer - it's common sense.
Trans women are not going to linger in women's facilities, copping an eyeful. They will be in and out trying to attract as little attention as possible.
Creepy blokes will hang around, and they will inevitably become sexually excited, because that's what creeps and pervs do.
My answer makes all kinds of sense.

SP, I’ll tell you a little story. I know someone who is in the process of transitioning from male to female. I’ve known him for years and was always aware of his foibles and his fondness for women’s clothes., etc. All was well with our relationship, always very friendly, until one day he decided to tell me that he believes the spirit of his dead sister inhabits his body and finished up propositioning me in no uncertain terms. He scared the wits out of me – really he did. Needless to say I beat a hasty retreat and he is no longer on my Christmas Card list. As you say there are without doubt some creeps, weirdos and pervs out there … so don’t tell me who I have to accept and who I don’t.

Many pages ago on this thread, I said that I didn't agree with self-certification.
I don't think someone can wake up one day and declare themselves the opposite sex without going through rigorous psychological evaluation...by trained medical staff. It just doesn't make sense.
What I believe is that trans women should be able to use gender appropriate facilities.
