Mikey.....mine were educated at times in the state system.....the private school system.........and "home educated" in a small group as I said in my post.....whatever was what I felt best at the time....

One prepared for higher education exams in a very small group out of mainstream school with teachers paid for by the parents.....
They were taught what they needed brilliantly.......and had lots of time to broaden their life experiences....and....all got fantastic results leading to a choice of good universities.....
From what I hear of the others they're leading happy and successful lives......as are mine.....x

If home schooling is not something you're familiar with it's easy to get the wrong idea.....one child and two potty parents....

If those who have experience of it, as a child or parent, explain simply and politely it goes some way to getting another reconsider their ideas....perhaps..... :-)

I'm sure you do,Minty if you're referring to potty parents.....as there will be parents with potty ideas in the state school system....
But that is no reason to make out we are all odd or religious for choosing a more difficult and sometimes more expensive way to have our children educated as we wish......x

I think that to the majority of people, home schooling is "weird", mainly because they either didn't do it themselves/know anyone who has or they are just thankful they didn't have to do it themselves with their kids. Clearly it suits some people, but would not suit the majority. As far as i know, not having looked at any of the links, there's no compulsion to take exams and if you did want to go to further/higher education, you could get in on interview alone.

Of course they are going to home school their children. That is the only way they can isolate them from the outside world. That's one of the primary tactics of the Moonies and other religious zealots

I am asking myself a different question. These kids are going to need extensive, complex and long lasting medical care in a country where such care is VERY expensive.Who is going to pick up the bill which will be in the $ multi millions ? 'Medicare/Medicaid' is very limited & basic at best, they will need far more than it can give them. It goes without saying that there will be no medical insurance in place.
