Mikey....home schooling is not always one child educated by a parent or parents....I don't know if you read my previous post about this on your thread....
Home schooling is being taught out of "normal" schools and can be a small group of four or five...or more.... children taught by specialist teachers employed by the parents.....for say, three or four days a week......this works very well.....
The children....or young teens, as mine were, can have their interests and hobbies encouraged and by not being in a school for the prescribed hours...many of which are wasted.... have more time to widen their interests and interactions with others.....
They can mix with many other children from all walks of life if, for instance, they're athletic......even going on to being a champion athlete......or they can get involved in theatre groups (that's seeing life!)......Eisteddfod performances......Guiding or Scouts.....crafting days.....
They can even do this if their mother is a card carrying atheist and their father on the fence about God........
So please stop tarring us with this brush of yours......home schooling is not one or two sheltered and hidden away children mainly for religious reasons......honestly.... :-)
p.s......They can also have fantastic holidays during term time.... ;-)

Gness...thanks...that was very informative, with no nastiness included....you get today's Gold Star for that!
But what about when the child is ready to go onto higher education and to prepare for those GCSEs and A Levels.
I can also see problems for some people, where they might have to go to work to bring more funds into the household. And some parents might lack the skills needed to teach children anything other than the basic 3 Rs.
